While I was scrolling through a forum network I cam on the topic that was recruiting people for time commanders The message is for the beginning of august, but sofar only 42 people have replied to it. I myself don't live in the UK, but I though you UK'ers out there might want to show up and show the television what a real total war armchair strategist can do

Lion Television - the production company behind programmes like Castaway and Paddington Green - is looking teams of four to take part in its new BBC2 programme, Time Commanders.

Time Commanders is an historical interactive show - a game of strategy where you can enter a computer generated virtual world from a 21st century battlefield command centre and take on the greatest generals from the past in an attempt to overturn history.

Could you have defeated Napoleon at Waterloo, or have out manoeuvred Hannibal on the Alps? If you think you could, this is your chance to pit your wits against some of the finest military brains in history.

Your four team members will each take a different role in the command centre, ranging from superiors to subordinates. Faced with an aggressive army to defeat, you get the chance to test your friendships and find your role in the team. The presenter will guide you through the game and discuss your team's strategies and tactics with you.

Two historical experts will assist the teams, providing important battle information at the beginning of the show and joining you at the end of the battle to provide a post-mortem and explain what happened in the original battle. Teams will be given specialist information including data on soldiers and weaponry. Teams can then produce battle plans and deploy troops.

Lion Television is looking for teams of four, of all ages, to face the challenge. Team members need no historical or military knowledge, only the ability to think strategically and a lively personality. (Well this explains alot, about the contestents, although they also lack the last 2 skills )

Filming will take place at BBC Television Centre in London in the week beginning 4 August. For more information, contact Amy Robbins at Lion Television on (020) 8846 2129 or e-mail amy.robbins@liontv.co.uk
