However, at the same time because of Crusades incredibly diverse unit roster you can build armies where you have all the essential units cavalry, infantry and missle troops and not a single unit is the same as the other. Meaning that in a sense the clone armies of RTW are semi gone. So normally if you needed 4 units of basic infantry you would have say 4 units of hastati (vanilla rome). In crusades you can have latin militia, english men-at-arms, french infantry and latin men-at-arms. Or you could have german infantry, italian militia, tripoli men-at-arms and antioch halberdiers. Or hospitaller spears, with teutonic spears etc etc. The combinations are almost endless with the numbers of units per faction. The same goes for the Saracens who have an even more diverse recruitable roster than the crusaders.
