No Doubt - It's My Life.

Only featured on their greatest hits album, The Singles 1992-2003, I feel this Talk Talk cover is one of their best.

I actually think it's one of the few cases of a cover being better than the original, but your mileage may vary. :3

Yes, unemployment, 2005 album I think

Also a great choice on your behalf, I brought the paramore album, not as rocky as their earlier stuff though.

I will listen to florence in a few minutes me thinks.

Naw, Paramore's latest offering is not as rocky at all, big change in direction from Riot!'s pop-rock tones. But still a fantastic album, really glad I picked up the limited edition.

I quite liked F&TM's Lungs, as albums go, but it suffers from what I call 'that one song' syndrome. You know, the one song that stands out on the album and you hear it everywhere no matter where you go? She is a very talented vocalist, but I feel that she's just going to end up remembered for You've Got The Love and the rest of her work may well be overlooked, which would be a shame.

Other examples that spring to mind are The Killers' Hot Fuss (flipping Mr Brightside), Bloc Party's Silent Alarm (Helicopter, of course) and Kasabian's self-titled album (Club Foot, also known as "ahahahahhhhhhhhhh, doo-doo-doo-doo-doo" to the uninitiated).

I love all three of those albums and wish people could see that those three songs aren't even the best on any of them (in my humble opinion), just the most commercially successful and well-recognised. When I went to Leeds Festival in 2008, there were tonnes of chavs and such singing along to Mr Brightside, yet the rest of the setlist was completely alien to them. And to me, that's a crying shame. :<

Anyway, I am currently listening to The Wombats - Kill The Director.

Because this is no Bridget Jones.

Such a strange band, and the lead singer surprises me every time she opens her mouth. They played before Gallows at Soundwave, and she joined in for the final song. It was awesome, and they are really good live.

Listening to Early Grave by Architects. Incredibly easy to head bang to.

    Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid.

Edinburgh's own Shirley Manson, one of my favourite female vocalists. :3

This song's one of the only ones I can get 100% on while playing Expert Guitar in Rock Band. I fail, I know. :<

Ocean Colour Scene, one of my favourite bands. I think they actually got better as they got less popular, it was as if they thought "**** it, now we can do the stuff we want to do, not what people want to hear."

    Fantastic act, really amazing live.

A friend of mine from university went to school with Alice Spooner, the girl who works her magic on keyboard and synths. He wouldn't shut up about that for the entire gig. :P

Currently listening to Blondie - Maria.

Miss Deborah Harry, my absolute favourite female vocalist, she's fantastic. Saw the band in Blackpool a few years ago, managed to get all the band's sigs except Debbie's... couldn't get anywhere near her. :<

Something a bit different (for me at least). Franz Ferdinand's Auf Achse, which remains to this day my favourite Franz Ferdinand song.

Listening to In Rainbows (Radiohead) in an attempt to feel clean again after watching some evil videos whilst finding youtube links for the mafia in my Gameroom game "The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame", due to start toward the end of this month. https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...l-Hall-of-Fame.

I'm going to see them in 20 days supporting Lostprophets. One of those cases where I am far more excited to see the support band.

Listening to STFUppercut by The Blackout. IMO their best song.

Electronic - Getting Away With It

Take one part New Order, mix with a dash of The Smiths and lightly season with the Pet Shop Boys... the result is this song. <3
