indeed it does, it is a far more flexible variant that Shogun,
we can do SO much more with Samurai Wars
(and we have done and will continue to DO SO)

but i want to get GOLD and TW:ERA's onto the fan based servers

and i CAN - it's taken me a few hours to find the glitch,
it is fixable,
it does NOT violate COPY PROTECTION (always a consideration here)

if i am correct then TW:ERA's SHOGUN and Shogun GOLD (REGULAR) are the same EDITIONS

i am currently working through the FOUR versions of TW:ERA's SHOGUN
then i will double check with Shogun GOLD (REGULAR) - of which i also have a copy

SO
Shogun GOLD (all versions) will soon be able to play online using the fan based fakeservers

Why don't you use mine?
It's up 24/7 with minor downtimes now and then.

neither my regular copy of Shogun Warlords,
not the Gold Edition will connect

no firewalls or anything running here,
no router or proxy

ok, i tried to download the self installer which says it is 40mb in size. it gave me 176kb of data. when i double click on the file nothing happens.

That's STWmod for MTW/VI. I just downloaded it, and got the whole thing. You could try Firefox. That's what I use as a browser, and it handles downloads.

Well, hello GBB,

It helps to know that is possible, but since I'm new at MP problems please tell what you need to do. Cause me thinks one need to do something when the "Connect to EA Server" is missing from the MP of ShogunTW Gold.

So what is to be done, just place an Internet file with the information of the fake server in the game directory, anything else? Don't tell me this is it and I figured it out just by myself.

The discussion down here doesn't give me any clue about what is to be done.
Practical answer would be very appreciated.

Yes it worked for me also. I had STW Gold with no EA Server on the Multiplayer menu, only LAN and information server or so.

The below link (R'as) to the patch, and the patch once installed (read the unzipped readme for details) get me coonected. The EA Server appeared where you want it to be... although the server to conect was the fake server.

And one more problem.
In TW: Eras Shogun and Medieval are Gold Edition.
I haven't found patches for Gold except one 1.02 for the japanese version. Installing it ruins everything.

I have GOLD-ERAS and am willing to test.
