True. Would Lehmann have got it though? Piece of cake for Jussi.
It'll just cost you lot £8 million.

Lehmann's not so bad.
I think we should have put in an offer for Craig Gordon during January. Hearts seem to have gone off him somewhat after his part in the problems they've been having, and he's a cracking keeper.

Seeing as Vlad has already brought in two Lithuanian goalkeepers it's near
enough being a certainty that he'll be flogging their best player in the summer.
It's well known that Craig wants to play in England, but it'll just be a matter of
somebody getting to him before Celtic do - especially if Boruc is going down.
With that in mind, I think Boruc could be better.

Well, LEN, quite the match eh ?
The return match 'll be one to watch, since Fenerbahçe has to to win, or score at least three goals - not an easy task at all !
3-1 after extra time!
What an absolute cracker of a game. Although Arsenal should have killed it off with the first penalty, it was incredibly exciting right down to the wire.
Great refereeing too.

Good thing it never went to a shootout, I'd say. Painful to watch at times,
especially when it was so blatantly obvious that the equaliser was coming.
Although I'd agree with you on the refereeing, it seems a fair few Bolton fans
wouldn't - I actually thought Ben Haim was lucky to stay on the pitch as long as
he did, for one thing.

Well he simply screwed up, if you take a closer look at the last two goals conceded, you notice that his flank was as comfortable as Plains of Rohan. Added very crucial missing players from the defensive line, we were plundered at home. Though referee was a total mess in some critical decisions, AZ made a well-deserved away getaway.
Let's see what the second match next week will bring, our squad will be better healed by the time.

LOL I bet 'Magoo' Venger thought he was going to meet Bryan May!
Wait! The myopic one thinks he has met bryan May, he was just shorter and greyer than he thought he'd be.

As for England, bit of a delayed-reaction backlash you're having there? I don't
think they'll qualify either, but maybe it'd be just as well, as I don't think they'd
set the tournament alight whatever happens between now and November, to be
fair.

Those were excellent saves, though I don't think it'll be enough to save
the tie for them in the long run.
[And you know, you could always support us - it's not that much of a
stretch, now is it?] In fact, it's probably my continued support for the
Irish that has them doomed to failure, knowing my history with these
things. In all seriousness though, I think we all need all the help we can
get at the moment, and the English FA has taken all the wrong steps in
the build up to this campaign. I wouldn't say their counterparts up here
are doing a great job either, but they're making the best of a bad situation,
as it were.
Who is in Spain's group, though?

Sweden has a habit of being decent though, [to understate] and Denmark and
Northern Ireland can pull off results on their day - less said the better, I'd think.
It is curious how both England and Spain have so much potential on paper, yet
they rarely seem to gel on the pitch as so many things would apparently indicate
that they should. Both need to find players who function well in the team, and in
both cases, I don't see what good can come of holding onto their current
managers.
That said, Spain's next game is at home to Denmark, as far as I can see, and
surely that's a must-win, isn't it?
My current concern lies with Georgia [aye, arguably another part of that
ever-expansive 'bugger all' category to which we belong] who, for some
unknown reason seem to have decided they're going to start playing football,
and just recently turned over Turkey and gave them a good carving. Now, I
have a feeling that the picture of Turkish optimism that is LEN might well paint
the gloomy picture about his own side, but when I see that kind of result going
Georgia's way, I think we can forget about concentrating on the Italy and
France games alone.

...I'll raze this topic by posting some pr0n...If Fenerbahçe is not up there, football should not be a matter of discussion..Before some Dutch arrives..Yess..Sssss...
Well, what a match that was LEN. I am kind of sorry for Fenerbahce, getting knocked out of the tournament after a 2 - 0 lead always hurts. Especially knowing there was more to be had. However, same also counts for AZ. They simply wasted too much in Turkey. They could have made this a lot easier.Originally Posted by LeftEyeNine
However the 3 -1 win against Bremen was even harder to bare. We lost it all in thirteen minutes, even though we played quite well. Oh well, can't have it all then, now can we.
Dreadful performance by Almunia in the final: couldn't save ANYTHING half decent.
Good work by Walcott though, nice to have him blooded at last.

Student by day, bacon-eating narwhal by night (specifically midnight)
I’m posting after so much time… After month having cable I watch whole weekend football…
Yesterday in Serbia and Croatia were played two greatest football derbies.
Dinamo (Zagreb) – Hajduk (Split) 2 – 1
In the greatest Croatian derby Dinamo at home won. What to add? I didn’t watch match, but I could in Croatian TV.
Red Star (Belgrade) – Partizan (Belgrade) 2 – 4
Gah! Partizan won at our stadium after 6.5 years. Red Star’s players played terrible. Luckily we had 12 points of advantage (now 9) before match. Unfortunately, Serbia is probably only country in Europe were you can’t watch live greatest football derby. I didn’t want to watch “one hour” later broadcast (because I know bad result of my team).
Game was so bad for watching (real catastrophe from football ).
Arsenal – Chelsea 1 – 2
Mein Gott, what Diabi did to Terry. It was horror!
Wow. Walcott finally scored for Arsenal! I can say that we were a bit better in the first half. Wenger’s almost 2nd team play better then first of Murihno. I think that Drogba scored from offside.
The weakest player in Arsenal was, without any doubts, Senderos.
“Nice” boxing match on the end between Toure and Mikel. But why Adebayor was sent off? From what I saw Fabregas was more involved, but he like Lampard got yellow card.
Just to mention brilliant shot by Lampard (bar) and Shevchenko’s shot (again bar), both in 2nd half.
Conclusion: Wenger didn’t beat Murihno again: 0 – 4 – 5.
The key was in the first 15 minutes of 2nd half when we failed to score (we were in great offensive). After that, kids just didn’t have enough concentration and strength to resist to much more experienced players of Chelsea.
