It would be heavenly over here to only have to pay a 10% sales tax, you shouldn't complain too much because we have to pay a ridiculous 17.5% on everything.Originally Posted by ProudNerd

I am delighted to hear that the release date for England will more than likely be November 10th, its nice to know that we are getting it quite early indeed

Being based in the US at the moment I for one will be aviod M2TW forums from the 10th until I get the game in my hands (well maybe a quick check to be sure the forum is not full of "OMG it suxs" threads). Add to that I will have planning to get Gears or War and CoD3 for the 360 and Neverwinter 2 for the PC so will not be short of things to too...Originally Posted by NagatsukaShumi

Of course the fact that ordered the Strategy Guide may lead to a lot of spoiling on the 7th anyway...

Yes, there is a limit. I know because I buy a fair bit of stuff from O/S and I've spoken to customs about what duties are payable. I thought it better to pay duties on the goods rather than have them confiscated altogether as "grey" imports.Originally Posted by maestro
As it turns out I needn't have worried as, according to the customs person I spoke to, one doesn't have to pay duty in Australia on items ordered from overseas so long as those items don't exceed a value of $1000.
Yeah, but as someone else has pointed out, in Australia the GST is not necessarily the only sales tax you pay on an item. Apparently they retained a lot of the former sales taxes when they brought the GST in. In fact now you hear people complain because they find themselves paying "a tax on a tax" for some items.Originally Posted by D Wilson
Yea, where I live at (Pittsburgh PA), we got 7% Sales Tax. But I don't know what it is when you buy something from here from over in England or something..
you guys are in soft ground because i have ordered from Australia and the delivery is in Europe so i was HAMMERED in the tax...

I've ordered books from Australia before (they were not released here in the US yet :P ) and I did not have to pay the 10% GST. Which was nice, since shipping was about thirty bucks.
On a related note, here in the Great Satan sales tax depends on what you buy and where you are. In my home state, its only 5.5%, and only for non-comsumables. So, everything but food.
Ohh, and I should mention that I am waiting for reviews. Until that time, MTW for me.
"Its just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"

I agree this thread should have it's title changed daily so we can all feel better :)
I have just been lovingly reading the Review in PC Gamer UK an at the bottom it says .....
THIS GAME IS RELEASED ON 24th Nov in the UK ...OMFG !!!! Play.com says the 10th ...LOL :)
^^ Yea, it sucks, Play are like that.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz
XFX Geforce 9800GTX 512mb
XFX nForce 680i SLI Motherboard
4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 RAM
2x Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200RPM
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
Seriously?
Every shop and site i visit says 10th, Including some M2TW banners.
I'm still putting my money on the 10th
just been here ....
http://uk.pc.ign.com/index/release.html
an they say 24 Nov :(
I have followed their release dates on games before an they have been right ... thats nearly 4 weeks away , UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuurgh :(
I doubt it will be the 24th. The game will have gone Gold by the 3rd, when the Gold code day thing is, so it will be ready for mass-producation then. The 10th is looking like a good date for a UK release date.

http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSH...&lgl_Section=1
There it's priced at €54,99 Note the different boxart, so i take it's somekind of special edition?
http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSH...&lgl_Section=1
This one is priced at €64,99
ANd it's named M2TW Limited edition.
So are there going to be 3 different versions?

I am not a uker so I have no clue for you guys but I have heard from everywhere that counts that the U.S. date is Nov 14.
Now of course that maybe shipping date, meaning it may not be on shelves till Nov 15, however the 14th is a Tues and that's when most stores I know get there games around here so 14th sounds bout rite to me U.S. wise. So i'm 16 days away now, so geared up :)

Anyway.
11 days to go.
Right?
It may not be the highest at 17.5% here in the UK but overall we pay over 40% taxes and that's the highest anywhere in Europe at least. By some schools of thought when a country gets over 40% tax a revolution of some sort will occur, not necessarily a radical one, but things need to change. One major question is that if we have the highest tax rate in europe yet our public services are still sub par, then where is all the money going?
