You don't need the file. HGT converter doesn't produce acceptable results when used with MTW2

If I removed the .hgt file, the campaign won't start...

It will in the end - you just need to fix the two bugs the map comes with.
I think I just answered you on TWC:

If anyone can link to a better description of it here that would be useful as I can't remember exact step by step, and I'm sure that will come up again......

Replace the (0,0,0) color value with (1,1,1) for the whole map and I think you're fine.

Hey thx, but... what are you talking about? Yeah I'm a total noob in TW modding

I've read about that in RTW modding topics I've been searching through, but never got what it means or where I can change that...?....

Open the data/world/maps/base/map_heights.tga in whatever image editing program you have. If you can't find any areas that are 0,0,0 with the eyedropper tool - set your foreground/ brush colour to the RGB value 0,0,0 and put a blob of that colour in your sea. Select that blob with the magic wand tool and with tolerance set to zero use 'select similar' that will select all 0,0,0 spots. Change your brush/ foreground colour to RGB 1,1,1 and with maximum possible brush size and paint over those selected areas. (both 'colours' look black but game takes 0,0,0 as sea)

Exact details of how you set brush etc for doing anything on maps varies according to which program you're using. In PaintShopPro you can use any brush type so long as you set opacity etc to 100% - PhotoShop I think you need to use crayon or you'll get colour overlaps which is not good!

(If you had to put blob in sea use eye dropper tool to select sea colour and paint it out again)

Mmm ok so if I get this right, I have to work in grayscales, pure black being the sea...

No, the sea is blue. Black (0, 0, 0) shouldn't be on the map because it's bugged.

If I deleted the .hgt file the map looked badly.
