Thread: Leuce Epos charge value of 1?

Default Leuce Epos charge value of 1?

I just noticed that Leuce Epos, Curepos, and Ridoharjoz all have charge values of 1. Is there a reason for this or is it just a mistake?

In .80 I think the Leuce's charge values were around 20-25 or so, but even then the Curepos only had a value of 1.

Also is there any way to fix this manually so I can play/restart a campaign with the Arverni?

Ah, another confused EB player. And no, it's no mistake, it's simply RTW failing to display the correct charge bonus - it only displays the charge bonus of the primary weapon, and the charge bonus which really matters with this sort of cavalry is that of the secondary weapon. So, in melee the Curepos, Leuce Epos, and all the like receive their secondary charge bonus - which is something quite different from 1.

That explanation makes sense, and also explains why a lot of infantry armed with javelins/pila also have a charge bonus of 1, where as those with any missle weapon have higher charge values.

However, other light cavalry such as the Taramonnos, Myrcharn, and Numidian cavalry have charge values of 27, 23, and 15 respectivley...

Are those values wrong? Or are they the actual secondary weapon values just also applied to the primary weapon so that it shows on the info?

Edit: Just looked in the unit desc. data and saw all the info regarding secondary weapons... (L.Epos charge value 28, other three mentiond above correct as listed on unit card)

Don't know how it exactly works in RTW, but if the charge value of missile weapons isn't used for anything at all, perhaps it would be useful to set them to the same value as the charge value of the secondary weapon? This would result in more useful in-game stats (especially for those cavalry units with javalins and a lance, like the Nizakahar Ayrudzi for example).
