When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important and that she feels she would not maim the universe by disposing of him, he at first wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that there are no bricks and no temples

Made my choice, but forgot to vote for one turn per year!
I'm again the death of William next turn. I made my game tactics on it, and when he gets killed I can simply start over again (ie. I can just as well quit the game)
Wouldn't the death of Charles result in the 'War of Spanish Succession'?

Have you just been dumped?
I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.
I voted to keep all the deaths historical and for 2 turns per year. At 2 turns, Willem and Charles will boths still get a little more time, and it'll help the game move along a bit faster.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

Oh ya.
Anyway, using my limited (17th Century, Sengoku Jidai, WW1) experience, I would say that if you've got alot of people then 2 turns would be more efficient than 4 turns per year.

Just a comment on the 'historical!.
The Interactive starts with a historical startiong point; what follows leaves 'real' history. It has to be feasible, but does not have to stick to the fact.
In our case everybody knows when a 'historical' person dies. So it is no surprise and this is certainly not historical.
For example: If my strategy bases on the fact that Wiliam will die in three years, than this is very unrealistic. Death should come as a surprise.
Next turn ain't a surprise either
We said before the game started that William would die in 1702
About the death: DoH could throw a dice. This would be most historically!
What my established pollicy was I would start throwing the dice 2 turns before the historical death (except for Charles who is to close to the start date) and then have a 1/3 chance that they would die each year.Originally Posted by Franconicus

Charles and William survive (well Charles dies next turn but you get the point he didn't die this turn.)
