Gen dies, game over!

Does not matter even if you are outnumbering enemy by %50 and flanking with 5 cavs. Your gen dies and you loose instantly. Makes perfect sense.

An easy solution for the gen dying during crucial moments is to get him killed prior to the melee itself. The suicidal peasant gen is a wonderful tool for a skirmish you know.

Yes Duck but in that case your army fights with a morale penalty till the end.

In mtw that morale penalty was nulled after a few mins, but in mtw2 it is permanent.

Correct me if am wrong.

Anyhow,

Isn't it like that in all games? But Not Really. I killed enemy generals in some RTW/MT2W, and I still lost (barley).

The difference is that for the first 30 seconds or so the morale drop is rather massive, but it becomes lesser with time. But really you just have to try and do your best not to get him killed. These days I prefer to have him in a strongly upgraded reserve infantry unit. He doesn't get himself killed that often anymore.
