Hi !
Is there a "move" cheat code for armies/characters ? If so, how it is used ?
coordinates ? I'll appreciate any feedback, thanks

A tricky thing in using console commands in EB is knowing the "real" names for your characters. For example, the Saka character "Sapalbizes" is called "Sapalbizes saka_soab" by the game, and that's the name you have to put in when you use the move command. If you have a look in descr_strat.txt, you might be able to find out the true name of the character you want to move - unless they were created after the game started, in which case I don't know what you're going to do.
You also need to know the x,y coordinates to move the character to. You can find this out by putting the mouse pointer over where you want them to go, then typing "show_cursorstat" in the console window.
Thank you both for your reply ! So I gather it is not possible to move an army unless led by a General, right ?
Careful though, whenever I do it, the army or character ends up being invisible for the rest of the game (that is, until killed).
COOL ! Thank you MarcusAureliusAntoninus
OOPS ? Would not like that - Does it happen every time ?Originally Posted by Callicles
The character will only be invisible in two cases:
1- You get the wrong coordinates. And you can just make the correction coordinates and the guy will reappear where you orginally wanted him.
2- You move a guy who is inside a city. This will make him invisible in the place you moved him, and immobile, I think. Just move the guy out of the town before cheat-moving him. And becareful that there isn't two guys with the same name and the game chooses to move the one inside the town. I don't think there is any way of undoing this error.
EDIT: Oh yeah, just like you can't move them out of a town, you can't move them into one either. (Most of the time... just don't try...)
He also becomes invisible if you give him and imposible comand, I think.
At least thats what happened when I "rescued" the last case family member from dying heirless on the continent. The first time I told him to move onto an impenetrable forest, but when I gave him valid move commands, he re-appered.

Characters also become invisible if they are besieging a city. The city will remain under siege, and if the attacking army (the one you moved) launches an attack or the defenders sally forth the game will CTD.
You can actually move characters into cities using the "move" command (as opposed to "move_character") but IIRC this can only be used in a script, like what EB does with client rulers. If you use the "move_character" command to move a character into a city, he will reappear on that tile but not in the city as such. You essentially have two armies on the same tile, though each army is able to be moved independently (the trick is being able to actually select them).
