Should I get a PS3 or Xbox 360?

I've been thinking about this for a while now. I've saved up all my money from my Birthday and from Christmas, and already had some I'd saved up before.

As far as I can see, the Xbox 360 offers better graphics although I've heard about a few problems coming with certain versions. The PS3 on the other hand may suit me best as its better for Pro Evo games (?), but I then won't be able to get Halo 3 which I also would have liked to play.

Or are neither of them worth the money and should I just stick to TW?

Well game-wise there isn't much difference in them.
They both have overall the same graphical level, in some games the PS3 have slightly better and in others the 360 has slightly better but the difference is really tiny overall.
The 360 has more games out while the PS3 is lagging behind on that front but should be getting some good ones soon.
But the PS3 is more reliable then the 360 which is IMO very sensitive, too sensitive. Just moving an inch it while it's on can damage it.
So the PS3 can be a safe bet, an expensive safe bet while the Xbox360 is a bit of a risk(but if you are a cautious person like I'am I think you should be ok, still keep that warranty of yours) but cheaper then the PS3.

The 360 has a vastly superior games catalogue at the moment, as well as far better online architecture. I wouldn't buy a PS3 for PES just yet, as 2008 is not that great, really.

The 360s being made now have superior quality parts after that fan debacle, so you shouldn't have any worries on that front. I'd get the Elite if I were you.

Get a 360, its the best console I have ever owned. I have had one since it came out and have had no problems. I won't deny their is an alarming number of defective consoles but Microsoft has given out an extended warranty on all of them, which they do hold true too.

Besides that you just need to look at the difference in sales figures the 360 has sold double what PS3 has. Xbox Live really is the superior online service of the two, granted it has its fair share of whining kids on whose voices will hurt your ears but its still quite enjoyable.

Factor in the price tag and I really see no reason why anybody would want a PS3 as stated above the two do release a lot of the same games these days. I can however think of a few Xbox unique games that really shine, depending on what you're into i.e Mass Effect and Halo 3.

I highly recommend getting the 360, I currently own both and I regret purchasing the PS3 instead of the Wii. Personally, the only reason I planned on buying the PS3 was because of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots, other than that, nothing.

The 360 offers a lot more than the other two. Downloadable demos, patches, themes, and even minor mods for games. It currently has the highest sales rate in the US, while the Wii owns if you count the whole world.

Mass Effect, Halo 3, Bioshock, Guitar Hero III, Lost Odyssey, and many more games are waiting for you.

Well I had been leaning towards a PS3 but you guys are making me wonder...

Is the online scene a lot better on the 360? Or for a game like PES that is always associated with the PS, would it have a larger online fanbase there? Also I know I can dowload mods through my PSP cable onto the PS, would I be stuck with Glasgow Blue and Glasgow Green representing the Old Firm if I got the 360?

Im not sure really. My brother had a 360, bought this time last year. Now its...dead. Not sure why.

PS3 has blu-ray. Wow. Say the difference in quality. Its quite amazing The actual game graphics, im told, are not that impressive.

I would go with the Xbox 360.

I have both of them, and i'll tell you...if you want good award-wining games get the 360. The PS3 is beautiful, i'll admit, but I have 2 games for it and rarely play them. The online of the PS3 is free but it sucks, meaning it's extremely difficult to get the hang of. Xbox360 has, sure, a 50$ a year fee for online but it works great and you can do so much with it. Plus, at a few 10s of dollars cheaper (if your American) you can eaily afford games like Call of Duty 4 or the infamous Halo 3.

PS3 dude trust me! Its great. The online isn't as diffrent as the X-Box as those fanboys brag about. The only thing that is better with the X-Box 360's online is that it is more orginized. The PS3 has weekly updates and those updates may be a nuisance at first but every update improves the online everytime. Basically if the PS3's online will soon match up to the X-Box 360 online. BESIDES ITS FREEE!!!!. Also, there are million of fantastic games for the PS3. That are wonderful. And 2008 is the year for the PS3. Theres MSG 4, The new Final Fantasy, GTA, and tons more seriously get the PS3, join the sensation!

That's probably good advice. Most 360 hits seem to make their way to the PC eventually.

For depth of games and online content, the 360 wins. Graphics look pretty comparable, but I think the PS3 has much more unrealized potential and thus more room to improve than the 360 (graphically).

Personally, I think the Wii is the best current gen console.

The fact that online for the PS3 is free is a big bonus for me. Also I have a feeling most PES players are PS fans, could someone confirm that for me?

Yeah, that's also the ONLY initial reason I bought the PS3. I've been following the series since PS1 and I don't plan on stopping now, though I would've liked it better if it was released on the 360.

Save your money

Get a 360 and a Wii, and put the remainder towards upgrading your PC.
thats what ive got. Play sports the way they are ment 2 be played. who needs the gym when u have a wii. It keeps me mega fit.

Get a 360. Only flaw is it might red ring but I have a 3 years micosoft warranty and a 1 year store warranty to cover that.

Ive played both ps3 and xbox and I just prefer everything on xbox from the controler right to its impresive online and range of games.

Maybe if you are lucky and got the PS3 that has backwards capability before it was removed from production then I suppose you have a good library of games but large amount of those would be the PS2 games.

If you really want to prevent your 360 from getting the red ring, than get an Elite 360, I think Xboxes that were produced on 2007 don't have that virus.

Actually Elites have reports of RRoD.
So the problem isn't fixed.
And even if they fix the RRoD then they still have to find another DVD drive since the ones they use now are worthless.
I mentioned this earlier, a slight nudge while running can malfunction your DVD drive.

Got a 360 and I say do that. You can always upgrade your pc to play most of what hits the xbox, Sony has over 15 softwarehouses working on exclusives they will come. Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Killzone 2, God od War, and whatever the guys who made SHadow of the Collosus are doing. The machine is also really silent, sounds unimportant but it's not the 360 bzzzzzzzzzzz penetrates every sound in your room. And they are timebombs, the service is exellent but you get it back without the problem solved, just replaced parts.
