I had a seven star general with the expert attacker virtue, so when he attacked, his stars (and the corresponding valor bonus to troops) increased to 9. So I built the admiralty and gave him the office, thinking to get him to 9 stars with 11 on the attack. Well, he is a 9 star general now, but he does not get the attack bonus. When attacking, it just stays at 9 stars and the valor bonus remains at +4. What gives?

Actually I think 9 is the maximum for any stat a general/startegic unit can get.

So you should grant the title to someone else. But keep an eye on your general when you strip of the title. Would be no fun to get a 9 star rebel general.

I see. Seems like a rule particularly well suited for appearing IN THE MANUAL.

    9 is max...

Rank 8 is the highest natural rank I have had a general acheive... takes a LOT of battles to get to 9, becuase I haven't seen it yet!!
