We have previously talked with him, but found our methods did not match. He used to work on a mod for EBI, but has since stopped.

They are not per se that historically accurate, and he has a tendency of overcoloring stuff. Not saying it's bad, it just differs from EB's style of skinning.
This space intentionally left blank.
The creation of units is a difficult process that requires both creativity and restraint on the side of the unit artist (both modeller and skinner), while the historian needs to be aware of the limitations and be understanding if his vision cannot be exactly turned into a working model. Its not as simple as being able to make beautiful models and skins, nor is it as simple as being able to research and put forward proposals. Its a relationship between historian and unit artist, one that doesn't always work for everyone. Sometimes a historian may be too demanding on a unit artist, other times a unit artist may be too willing to put his own creative vision in front of that of the historian, or any other possibility. Its a delicate balance, but one that we have to be aware of and weigh the consequences carefully.
Running a mod isn't as easy as it looks.

I dont want to question you, I'm just curious: what is ahistorical about these skins?

This is certainly not the place to discuss another modders work. I'm closing this thread.
