The cessation or complete subversion of Democratic institutions. Basically I see it as this - as long as real Democratic institutions exist there is still a method for me to change what is occurring. One other thing would be the inability to gather in public OR the restriction of freedom of speech. While these two exist I can protest safely knowing that what I am doing is legal.

I don't think I ever would. If all the liberties were taken from a democratic instituition, I would simply comply and work my way to the top of the totalitarian regime (granted they weren't trying to exterminate my race/ethnicity). Yes, selfish, I know...

So unless an oppressive regime had the aim of exterminating my ethnic group or nationality, I'd never rebel.

Most probably. The way the establishment would go about doing this would be so secretive that no one would notice until it's to late. Some people suggest with ID cards and the like as well as controversial anti terrorist legislation were going down that road.

I just can't ever see there being rebellion in country's like the UK or America where the establishment is so prominent in every aspect of life.

Some southern (and northern) states have a lack of weapons restrictions so if a people's militia wanted to form here in America, it would be fairly easy.

I agree! I know that I have felt on the verge of rebellion a few times. ( mostly while in government employ). But I suppose you have to reach the point to know you are there… a really serious step…

If the government were to suspend elections, or possibly in the case of massive electoral fraud. I would never rebel against a democraticly elected government. I'd just vote with my feet in that case.

Wilson couldnt do anything because he forgot what freedom was. But I would rebel if things got too worse, lets say, if they want to stay in the power even though the Constitution dont allow them.

And I would think twice about rebelling, ou have to be careful on what to do.

I would say if I thought the revolution had a chance to succeed. Which is to say, probably never. People don't care until it's too late.
