Default High Def stats = slower battles?

    Hi all,

I'm just curious if increasing the defense stats for all units would lead to slower, more drawn-out battles like in the original MTW. I'd like to find some way to make battles last longer than a minute or two.

I noticed that in the FATW mod (for RTW:BI) the defense stats are quite high, and the battles in that mod have a very nice pace to them; you actually have time to flank and set up battlefield maneuvers.

Would increasing the defence stats have that effect, or would there be some unforseen problems? If anyone has tried something like this, I'd be very interested to hear how it worked. I imagine some M2TW mods out there have implemented some way to slow down the battles.

    Any thoughts?

The raised defense stats do draw out battles a lot and also make flanking with infantry a lot more rewarding. What you might want to do though, is to also lower lethality values to at least 0.6 for all melee infantry and 0.4 to pikemen.
