Help name the Multiplayer Forum

The Singleplayer forum got a fancy new name so now it's on you all to help decide the new name of the Multiplayer forum. The format in Parliament worked really well so I hope Martok doesn't mind if we run the same here. .Orgahs will be able suggest certain names they'd like to see used and after a while we'll hold a vote.

The name picked will be the name for the general area. We'll be accepting names for around ten days and then hold a poll open for the same amount of time. Maybe a little shorter if it's a total land-slide.

Please put all suggestions for future names in this thread.

I have been thinking about this for quite some time.

Giving the forum a period name I think is an excellent idea. But something with a touch of flavor and to reflect its multiplayer feel.

Parliament and Redoubt have to be some of the most boring and flavorless names for this to date!

It was the Era of The Coffee House, Gentleman’s Lodges, held in coffee houses or pubs and of scientific enlightenment.

Everything was conducted in the coffee house. Lloyd’s of London is named for the coffee house it operated from. The exchange operated from a coffee house. The Army and the Navy both had their special coffee houses where the officers gathered. All business and ideas originated there and was only ceremonially acted on elsewhere.

Lodges were gentlemen’s gathering which too place in various establishments but had their own special names. Lodges were popular throughout Europe but had their start in 17th century Scotland. There were traveling Lodges with the Navies and Armies as well.

Academies also made their appearance in the era, be they scientific or military.

Names of this nature avoid government types in the name and don’t have a Royal or Republican image to uphold.

I would rather start people to think along period lines rather than offer names at this time.

In addition to seconding the Redoubt, I would also suggest Artillery Park. (I believe original credit goes to Nelson for first mentioning it as a possible name for the Parliament.)

Well, not all sound so 18th century but a few are at least close.

If we are looking for something with just a touch of that in it may I suggest something like

The Bureau of Armaments.

Maybe the Admiralty or the War Office would sound a bit better but include only land or sea in those titles.

Department of War , War Department , or War Office would be more in line with the times.
