Is there any word from our modder friends at the center or anywhere else whether or not we can mod away the clone armies?

We probably can't atleast not until a expansion. And if it isn't in the expansion, I'll be sad.

I've been working on some skins which I hope to have done by the weekend, but we really need the tools in order to really see what can and can't be done. Have you tried putting the game settings on ultra?

How powerful does your PC have to be to run graphics on ultra?

I mean, I've always thought mine was fairly good, but it won't even run properly on medium. Anything above that isn't even an option.....

Yeah the easiest way to get non-clone armies is to just bump up the unit detail. Ultra for sure will give you different men.
Give a man fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

pervergreen is also taking suggestions for his Vanillia mod over at the modding forum. If you have any ideas about balancing units or other suggestions, post them on his thread.

I can confirm that ultra does give you differerent men. But not very many and not for every unit either. More variety would definitely be a bonus .

On ultra the uniforms all look the same, which is fine for this period, but it does give you different faces. Not many... But yeah.

I seriously don't get why people are upset about the so called "clone armies."

    A) In this period armies wore standardized uniforms.

    B) How often do you really zoom in extremely close and examine the details of the soldier's faces?

    C) They have different faces on Ultra.
