Amazing preview! It looks like Komotai have been nerfed...
Nice. The Getai are definitely my favourite of the barbarians from EB1.

Excellent preview... Much appreciated.
Curious though about the sicas, I thought they were closer to 40cm in length? The ones on these units seem closer to 20cm... Might just be me, of course.
Also noticed that basileus's sword doesn't have a handle, but it is a work in progress...

Very nice! Glad to see this mod progressing nicely.
Awesome! I will love trying to find my troops on the battle map (no really It's kind of boring to have those "WE ARE YOUR TROOPS" label you see in Vanilla and even some of the better mods for M2TW.
so you're not changing the province borders and add an extra region in the Thracian area? and you're not renaming the Getic capital to Argedava? That is not representative of the strat map in game, and should be taken as nothing more than a tool to aid in the understanding of where the Getai were to be found.
The only maps that will be representative of the strap map in game are screenshots of the strat map in game.

I'm pretty sure you can only have one PSF per province.
Wow. EBII has a really realistic look.
But still, I see some problems with distuingishing units from each other coming. Like in IBII which is nearly unplayable because of its realism
Well those units are much better than I expected, especially how the shadows fall on the unit, gives it a more realistic look.

After the initial shock, i reread the preview and i had one doubt. There is one unit called Basileus, i dont know if he is the king or faction leader, or it is just a general?
Later there is a screenshot of the Basileus but this time he is on foot with a unit not on horse, so, do the getai basileus fight on foot, like the sweboz one of EB? and, is that unit he is inside his bodyguard, or just another unit?
Thanks in advance.
For now, he is the provisional basileus, and will represent the getai king, family member and general. That for the first release.
Later on, we will make a proper basileus, and downgrade this guy to captain.
He is currently fighting on foot inside the late stratiotai (provisional bodyguard), until we make a definitive getai bodyguard (the old philakes daoi).

Kudos for EB team for amazing work!
PSF means permanent stone fort. It's a feature in the Britannia campaign of the Kingdoms expansion. Instead of giving the player the ability to build temporary wooden forts, like in R:TW and EB1, the campaign map starts out with many permanent stone forts already in place. These forts do not collapse when abandoned and are more tricky to storm. However you cannot build new ones, or raze old ones for that matter, so you need to keep them garrisoned to prevent the A.I. from taking over*. On the plus side, the first two units garrisoned in a PSF will be free of upkeep.
* At least, this happens if the A.I. gets its act together. But my limited experience with the Britannia campaign suggests that the A.I. treats them as if they were the old, temporary, wooden forts.

nice work! but what about the falx? the most important weapon of the Dacians? or romphaia for the Thracians? They fought with spears, javelins, falxes and one sided battle axes... the Phrygian and Sarmatian helmets?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacian_warfare
I selected:
The phalx was similar to a large sickle and came in two variants: a shorter, one-handed falx called a sica, and a longer two-handed version. The two-handed falx was a polearm. It consisted of a three-feet long wooden shaft with a long curved iron blade of nearly-equal length attached to the end. The blade was sharpened only on the inside, and was reputed to be devastatingly effective. However, it left its user vulnerable because, being a two-handed weapon, the warrior could not also make use of a shield. Alternatively, it might be used as a hook, pulling away shields and cutting at vulnerable limbs.
Using the falx, the Dacian warriors were able to counter the power of the compact, massed Roman formations. During the time of the Roman conquest of Dacia (101 - 102, 105 - 106), legionaries had reinforcing iron straps applied to their helmets. The Romans also introduced the use of leg and arm protectors (greaves and manica) as further protection against the falxes.
Dacians that could afford armor wore customised Phrygian type helmets with solid crests (intricately decorated), domed helmets and Sarmatian helmets. They fought with spears, javelins, falxes, one sided battle axes and used "Draco" Carnyxe's as standards. Most used only shields as a form of defense. Cavalry would be armed with a spear, a long bronze La Tene sword and an oval shield.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhomphaia
The romphaia
It was a variant of the Dacian Falx. Most rhomphaias were polearms, featuring a straight or slightly curved single-edged blade attached to a pole that was considerably longer than the blade. Some rhomphaias had short handles that extended to only the length of the blade. Although the rhomphaia was similar to the Falx, most archaeological evidence suggests that rhomphaias were forged with straight or slightly curved blades, presumably to enable their use as both a thrusting and slashing weapon. The blade itself was constructed of iron and used a triangular cross section to accommodate the single cutting edge with a tang of rectangular cross section. Length varied, but a typical rhomphaia would have a blade of approximately 60–80 cm and a tang of approximately 50 cm. From the length of the tang, it can be presumed that when attached to the hilt, this portion of the weapon would be of similar length to the blade.
Usage
Used almost exclusively by the Thracians, examples have been found dating from 300-400 B.C. As a weapon, the rhomphaia was feared (like the Falx) because of the cutting power afforded to it by the polearm like design. The rhomphaia forced the only documented change in Roman armour brought about by an encounter with a new weapon. After encountering the Falx in Dacia, the Romans added extra reinforcing bars to their helmets to protect against the powerful blows of this weapon.
Differences from the falx
The rhomphaia's blade was straight or only slightly curved, while the falx's blade was significantly curved. Because its straighter blade facilitated a thrusting motion and an overhead or sidewards hacking motion, the rhomphaia could be used by tightly packed troops as a defensive weapon. However, the straighter blade limited the use of the cutting edge.
Maybe some units with single handed and two handed falx... and romphaia... in the future... and some armor especially shields (wood covered with leather) and intricated bronze helmets for Thracians at list...
I am from Romania, a Romanian, Dacians were my ancestors...
Anyway nice work! nice units! :)

What makes you think we will show you a faction's best units on its first preview?
Of course we are going to have falxmen in EBII. Can you imagine the Getai without Drapanai? It's like speaking of Celts without Gasaetae, or Celtiberians without Dunaminaca...
Just be patient.
You didn't think the Getai will only get 4 units, did you? Off course there will be falxmen.
