Eh, isn't modern macedonia populated by Slavs? And that region was Paeonia back then, not Macedonia.

And when using Greeks you need to be careful too. Most of the ones in Northern Greece came from Asia minor, so they would be more appropriate for... Pontos? And then there were Slavic migrations in Greece too.

Were there not migrations in Italy as well?

Are there basic facial characteristics which are used to determine whether a face is appropriate for a faction?

He means they come from the modern day country of (FYRO) Macedonia.
This topic has been dealt with many times before, people should just send in faces stating where they come from, the team's historians will decide which ones will be chosen.

Regarding modern Macedonia, ethinicity is a cultural construct, in most cases it does not imply a genetic link. Personally I'm of the opinion that the vast majority of migrations in recorded history left few genetic marks as the migrants were almost alway vastly outnumbered by the local populations of the areas they moved into.

Oh and we are still looking for faces by the way, I've just been neglecting this thread due to Rl issues and EB work.

~~I think this has been answered in earlier pages? Don't worry, the EB team will determine which faces are appropriate. So that's why were throwing a large sample size at them for them to sift through.~~

As an Armenian, I have a couple of questions and some issues to clarefy. Now using pictures of Azeris, are those going to represent Armenians? or Georgians? if yes, than that will be historicaly incorrect. Azerbaijan has alot of Turkic admixture. If you want to get a better representation of the people of the Caucasus, you can not do it by looking at modern Azeris. Many Azeris have the Asiatic features which are found amongst people of TUrkmenistan. I will post pictures of Armenians, that will represent the overall phenotype of these people. (It is not a rarity to see blond or colored eyed Armenians. That Phenotype is part of the make up of Armenian people)

In general majority of Armenians resemble Greeks and Southern Italians in appearance.

I help foot out with the translations to Armenian, will he be the one who or one of the people that will get to decide?

Well there are no evidence of the Caucasian Albanians looking central Asian. I think its Herodotus who describes them, and doesn't mention them having Asiatic features. The Azeris who do resemble Armenians and Georgians, are in fact the descendants of the Caucasian Albanians. The ones that have Asiatic features are Turkic influences from Central Asia. Also there is an Iranian element in their features as well.

bobbin please dont take my posts as if Im arguing or going against what you say. Im just stating information, that might be interesting to people who do dont know much of the region.
