Yes, he is the main historian for the Hayasdan so he would be involved in any decisions regarding units from the region.

Just a quick question, regarding gameplay and the faces.

Once a region as has been conquered (or for example Romanized/Hellenized) would we expect to see minimal faces of the original population in the conquered region? Other than auxillary troops.

For example. If the Romani conquer all of Gaul (and destroy those factions), other than random spawning rebel stacks we would see any Northern Europe faces appear in that region again? Or would they become Romanized and have Southern Europe faces?

I guess this poses another question, same scenario. If the Romani wipe out the Gauls, and then the Gallic cities rebel, do they rebel with faces from Northern Europe or from Southern Europe?

Meh this is really minor anyways, but I do hope this makes sense.

I fear the answer will be, 'not enough unit slots etc'. But I thought I'd raise the point anyways ;)

Same faces for the unit, for now at least, and I'm also unsure if this is possible...

Romanisation/Hellenisation didn't mean that the native people were replaced, just that they adopted Roman or Hellenic culture. They would still look the same as they always did, otherwise everyone in western Europe would look Italian.

As Tux said a unit has one set of faces in its skin, I imagine you could do something with the armour upgrade feature but that approach would have many problems.

Yeah that came up a few times earlier in the thread so I figured as much.

I was just thinking outside the box regarding a city rebelling. Whether or not it was possible (but not realistic with probably unit limits and time constraints) if a city held by the Romans in Gaul, once Romanized, rebelled with Roman units with Northern Europe faces?

Hope that makes sense, but you guys did answer my question anyways

No the game isn't that flexible, ignoring amour upgrades for now there is still only one skin for a unit (well two actually, one is for weapons and sheilds) , this skin will have multiple different versions of arms, legs, heads, etc. There is no way to force the game to only show some of them at any one time.
Units get assigned faces from the region they were historically from, so Roman units would have Italian faces (the later marians might have more variation though), Pritanoi will have British, Pahlava will have Iranian, etc.

Yes and units drawn from the coloniae would reflect that, but do you really think an region's entire population would have been replaced?

    Excellent pic artavazd, thank you!

True, but that is the work of centuries, not decades. For that matter: immigrants bring new genetic markers, but those of the original inhabitants won't disappear, so you will end up with a hybrid rather than wholesale replacement. Unless, of course, the original inhabitants are eradicated or driven away, or very much outnumbered by the newcomers.

Sorry can't use those I'm afraid, the first is off center, the second is unevenly lit and the last is smiling, they are all too blurry as well.

Do you have any others? Remember they need to be taken from straight on, evenly lit and have a neutral expresssion.

It should be good enough, its good size, well lit and straight on. If you could take one that is a little less blurry it would be perfect but no need to stress about that, what you posted is perfectly usable.

    Thank you!

Have you guys considered not just using it for unit models but using it for FM's faces too?

I would immediately get my hands on a camera if it means being the leader of the Germanics or Celts.

Do you mean the faces you see in the character scrolls etc? I believe Tux is planning to do something like that, using high res models skinned with the faces though, not just putting the pictures in.

    I wanna be in EBII!

Do you think you'd be able to use this, or is the angle wrong?

I'm Swedish. I'm guessing Germanic or Northern Celtic/British would be the most appropriate in EB.

Sorry I must have missed this, I've been away for a while and I'm still catching up on things.

The angle and everything else is good, the only slight problem is one side of your face is lit differently from the other (it looks like your standing by a window), if you can take another then make sure the lighting is as even as possible, if not it's ok we can still use what you put up, it just means more work for the skinners.
