Default Another one lost to the opposite sex

On popular request (or at least on request of Fragony):

I finaly popped the big question a few days ago (after 10 years) and I got a tear-filled, almost histerical 'yes' followed by a full night of passionate and kinky ...

Well, I may have exagerated a little bit right there. She did, kind of, expected something when I invited her for a weekend to Amersfoort (ask Frag) so she wasn't really that tear-filled and histerical but still.

The day after, we celibrated by going privatly to dinner in a great historical site (again ask Frag). Good food, good wine (maybe a little to much), great company.

So all in all mission accomplished.

P.S. Just to see how strange I am to know this ( and not the restaurant where we dined):
    What is consommé?

I bet you two are a great couple.

Consumme is some kind of nasty, fatty, greasy beef broth I think. It is used as a cooking base or something, not to be eaten like soup as I tried.

Congratulations Phil and Phrag! Bless the liberal Netherlands and its progressive ways.

Does Fragony still go by the same name or did he adopt a new one after his sex change?

Wait, what!? The restaurant didn't know what consommé is? And you stayed instead of going someplace else?

See, this is why I refuse to eat outside of France, Belgium and, though painful to admit, Italy. I refuse to subject myself to this barbary. If they can't even serve me a proper soup, they can keep whatever else they intended to serve me.

Told you so (well, you told me, but then was not an opportune moment to admit it): the Belgae are part of the civilised world, the Batavae are trans-Rhine Barbarians.

From the title, I thought you was going to say that she went over to the opposite sex in preferences...

    However, on another note, congratulations.

    Weird, same here.

Congrats, Phill! May joyfulness and longevity plague your union.

    ^ What he said.

Congratulations or as my oldest friend said to me; "Another one bites the dust".
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

    Thanks for all the congrats.

To be clear, Fragony isn't exactly my type. (he just recommended the place).

And the lack of terminological knowledge (on the part of the restaurant) was greatly compensated by their knowledge of fine wines, so no complaints there.

And Louis, I'm glad you've finally agreeing to the culinary mastery of the Belgians. Now just admit that a good dish can consist of more than just some grams of ingredients and you'll know true satisfaction when dining.

Sure, We arrived mid afternoon on sunday for some shopping and sightseeing. Unfortunatly there don't seem to be any shops open on a sunday in Amersfoort. But it was a very cosy city nontheless.

The day after we went to Amsterdam which was a bit dissapointing because of the huge amount of visitors and the metropolitan attitude of the people themselves (a lot of elbow pushing).

But then again, nothing less than personal injury could've ruined that weekend.

Married people, be honest. Are you happy with your marriage overall? Because from what I've seen of married couples, they don't look happy about it, although they try to hide it most of the time. Yes, there are good moments and they certainly miss each other from time to time when one or both goes to work. But then there are other moments when I see that there are.....how should I say........moments in which they'd be better off if they stayed single or married someone else.

Also, please inform if your spouse is watching what you type here. Then I'll know which post to trust.

Yesterday, a co-worker wanted to show his wife to me via handphone. I made sure that I stayed out of the view of the camera but still close enough to see her. The conversation went like "hello," "hi, how are you and what do you want," "I just called to talk to you," "oh ok bye." It made me wonder what the point of marriage was. Mind you, the co-worker told me that he used to drive over an hour to his bride-to-be everyday when they were dating. They were quite eager to get married.
