Searching for a worthy Roman leader... as the temporary dictactor... I decide to held a challenging competition
Well, this link is only for those who allready in with the Roman group... but as no one reply to my thread in the Roman group... I decide to announce this competition here too... (Ludens, please don't kill this thread... This was an invitation to a sportive competition anyway - as I can't get enough time to moderating Roman group because of my mod project, and I want someone who worthy enough to took charge as Roman leader)
If you are support Romans, but not yet a part of the Romans group, you can always join us at
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/group.php?groupid=9
and my inter Roman competition link
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/group...scussionid=481
The winner will be given a full charge of maintaining the Roman group....
Well... errr.... where should I start...
Monday morning (8 February 2010), Gaius Septimus Severus ceded his Faction leader seal suddenly for me...
But I must admit, I didn't have time to regularly visit the discussion here now, let alone moderate them. As some of you may know, I and Cute Wolf (and GSS to some extent), start working in a RTW-BI modification. The Nusantara Total War : Portugese Invasion... and we just recently opened a new forum for developing our mod (run by joint admin, CW and me) http://nu3tara.forumotion.net , so... I won't be able to spend most of my time visiting the org, as I must deal with our modding and research.
But now, I know that the honour of become the leading general of Roman military might is not a cheaply thrown honour... so I decide to host a "Skill Competition", to determine, who are worthy to hold the title of Roman Supreme leader, you can call it consul, but I prefer Military dictactor due to the privilage to kick everyone out of Roma...
Well, for some sense of fairness, and for the best skill in commanding Roman army to be shown, here is the rules:
Type of Competition : Skill contests in commanding Roman Legions...
Enemies : Computers, determined separately in each stage
Platform / Mod used = Vanilla RTW for preeliminary rounds and EB for final rounds --> IF The first preeliminary get close run points, and we must proceed to the second competition...
The judgement is determined by winning points (you must win all the challanges, and with these criteria)
- Winning a battle is required, and by default grant you 1000 points
- The first priority is how much Roman soldiers survive, every lost roman soldiers will bring you penalty of -5 points (so you shouldn't lost too much men) --> Healed casualities are still considered a loss!!!
- The second priority is how much enemy soldiers slain, every slain enemies will give you bonus of +3 points (well, this was done to avoid "suicide kamikaze styled attack" to win the war)
- The proof of your victory MUST be posted as screenshot of your initial formation and the victory screen of each battle (so you have to post two screenshot for each battle), NO CROPPING ALLOWED!!!
The Battle on RTW platform must be held with:
- Vanilla RTW 1.5 EDU, descr_mount and animation (the default one - if you are not modifying your vanilla, that should be no problem)
- Unit scale on "Large" - NO HUGE UNITS or NORMAL UNITS - JUST LARGE
The Battle on EB platform (if held) must be held with:
- The trivial script, using RTW.exe on multiplayer
- Default EB 1.2 EDU, descr_mount, and animation (the default one used at official EB tournament)
- Unit scale on "Large" - NO HUGE UNITS or NORMAL UNITS - JUST LARGE
As I have no means for checking that... I will believe on your honesty

If there was a close run happened (some participants have no more than 400 difference of points from the top leader), then I'll host the second competition on EB platform...
UPDATE:
The Result so far...
First Challanger: spiritusdilutus
Battle 1 : 1000 - (5 * 197) + (3 * 1614) = 4857 points
Battle 2 : 1000 - (5 * 610) + (3 * 1147) = 1391 points
Battle 3 : 1000 - (5 * (301+285)) + (3 * 3016) = 7118 points
Total = 13366 points
well, so anyone that has less than 12966 points won't be considered in the next update
