    Default Parasite: Earthbound

Celebrating the one year anniversary of the hit title “Parasite”, the sequel some of you have been waiting for, Parasite: Earthbound.

The game takes place on the planet below the Cray 7-B orbital complex, a decade after the original events in the first game. Since the destruction of the Cray 7-B orbital complex by a meteorite, the Corporation has denied access to this remote section of space which has led to rumours, conspiracies and fairy tales in the taverns of worlds all over.

Many a dark night, when a self-proclaimed survivor of the station, speaks of the horrors of a seven headed alien attack, or how an experimental chronon particle bomb devastated the station. Whatever the story, it stirred with people’s imaginations. The odd strangers to the party might not initially see the interest or understand the speculation of such an event, as ultimately, an orbital complex experiencing an accident isn’t something so outlandish.

The reason for these rumours is from the actions of the Corporation itself. The silence around the subject is deafening, with even those near the top of the hierarchy not informed on the incident, combined with the corporations “Shoot then Talk” policy with any vessels approaching near the quarantine zone. The governments of other worlds have tried conferences and even resorted to espionage on the incident, all to no avail.

It was the United Citizen Federation who ultimately came across any actual information on the incident, while going through paper work to find a connection between the Corporation and a recent speculative bribery. They discovered significant amount of funds, those to rival a small mining moon, in connection with biological research equipment and information.

Mustering a taskforce of Mobile Infantry on a black operative mission, the United Citizen Federation prepares to discover what really happened at the Cray 7-B orbital installation , in the quarantine zone, for themselves.

What? I thought you were gonna do a Parasite/Earthbound crossover game... awww...

Really though? It's been a year? That's cool!

Since it's summer, and I officially can't get scared anymore, I am totally in.

    Synopsis: Orion Company

Orion Company is a mercenary unit employed solely by the Crayven Corporation to conduct ‘special interest duties’. The company consists of long-serving veterans, who are deemed loyal to the Corporation, who participant in high risk hazardous environments with brutal efficiency.

Those who sign-on to serve in Orion Company sign a ‘Life-Contract’ with the Corporation. In return for the most hedonistic excesses known in the galaxy as payment, the mercenary serves for life, till death. While this might worry some potential signees of serving in their late eighties, the average life-span of service is five years, with the current record holder having served for thirteen. Those of other worlds such as the Citizen Federation may criticise, but the reward of mortal paradise for serving Orion company mercenaries, even for a brief period of time is superior to spending a life in what they would see as picking up breadcrumbs in mere comparison.

The squad that was sent to the Cray 7-B orbital complex was consisted of fourteen members:

Major Banshee (Captain), Burger , Cheesy, Chicken Kiev , Ghost, Kebab, Mr. Blonde, Mr. T, Princess, Ripper , Smilie, Spartan, Otherside and Twoshot.

All are assumed to be Killed-In-Action.

Would like to encourage people to sign up. Beskar's games are very fun, very creative, and very tense.

The write ups are also awesome

    Synopsis: Director Grim

Making a brief appearance at the finale of Space Rogues, he is the administrator of the Asteroid Facility known as Cray 47-AF. He is also the older brother of ‘Ghost’ from Orion Squad.

He is the Director of the Corporations shadier dealings, playing a big part in the black market and criminal sector. While his ultimate ambitions and goals are as unclear as the next mans, he has taken a special interest in the Cray 7-B incident and the fate of his younger brother. Since a young age, there has always been a sibling rivalry with Grim ultimately going into the business sector and ‘Ghost’ going into the mercenaries. While observers will view what appears to be a mutual dislike between the brothers, they have always shared a bond where they have looked out for each other regardless of any ill-feelings.

There are rumours that Director Grim has placed a reward for information concerning the fate of his brother, and a special prize if his brother can be returned alive. So far, no one has come forward to attempt to claim this reward.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The dual symbols of the "Sakura Shogunate".

    Synopsis: Sakura Shogunate
    Real Name: Sakura no Kuni

"Land of Cherry Blossom", the Sakuran Shogunate spans several worlds, each ruled by a Daimyo, under the ultimate authority of the Shogun and his bakufu (officials). The figurehead of this collective group of worlds is the Sakura-hime (Empress), the leading female of a long bloodline, touted to have existed since time began.

The Sakura no Kuni is named the remarkable red and pink colors of its abundant flora, especially the cherry blossom. It is one steeped in tradition and honour, following a closely related code of bushido, "the way of the warrior". Boys and girls are taught at school age how to fight and properly defend themselves, taught how to live a life of service, loyalty, frugality and until death.

Domestic affairs are under the jurisdiction of the Sakura-hime (Empress), with heavy guidance from the reigning Shogun. These affairs of the state are under the banner of the Sakura flower, which is present on all matters relating to the public and collectively to the "outside". The figurehead (Sakura-hime) may only be a female of noble blood, spanning from the divine bloodline. The males are usually killed near birth by aspiring and resident shoguns, to prevent the imperial family from holding the position of Shogun, and thus, remain a puppet. The current Empress is the last of this pure bloodline, with her only sibling twin brother being killed at the age of 8.

The military commander, and the holder of the real power is the Shogun. His logo "the Dragon" is marked on all military documents and vessels, to remind those "outsiders" where the real power is held. The Shogun and his bakufu form the government, with very little offices occupied by some one not of Shogun influence. The current Shogun, Yoshiro, is known as one of the most enlightened and gifted Shoguns in history. He is well-known for his firm-but-fair ways within the Shogunate. To the "outside", the Shogun is known for his military aggression to perceived threats and takes a xenophobic stance to those outside of the Shogunate.

The Daimyo, are the lords of the worlds within in the Shogunate. The Daimyo's are the heads of the clans that populate each of the planets and hold heavy sway in the politics within their own spheres. While officially, the next Shogun is appointed by the Empress, in reality, upon the death or retirement of the reigning Shogun, the Daimyo between themselves decide upon his successor. This usually results in conflict as those with most power and influence fight for the position, generally till death. Those that fail upon this quest for the position, by honour, are to commit seppuku (honourable suicide).

Only other powerful body within the Shogunate is the Kage, the head of the intelligence and special operative service, subordinate and chosen by the Shogun himself, to reign till dismissed by the Shogun or his Successor. The position of Kage is usually assigned to close supporters or family of the Shogun, however, it is known that the Kage is often replaced numerous times by a Shogun during his reign, and many Kage do not live long after the demise of the Shogun.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Synopsis: Xanthus Imperium
    Other Names: Argos Imperium

The Xanthus Imperium is region of space governed under the Imperator Xanthus. The Empire is also known as the "Argos Imperium", named after the Imperial Capital City of Argos. The subjects of the Empire are known to the outsider as the Argonus.

This apparently strange naming ritual on the surface is brought about with the political system in place. Each new ruler brings with them, a brand-new Empire, which allows the new Imperator to void any previous legislation and contracts, or to announce his intention of honouring them. This practise has caused several high profile diplomatic incidents, as other parties unexpectedly find themselves have to renegotiate contracts and terms at crucial moments. This has also keep the Empire stable and fresh for thousands of years. Typically in societies, the abundance of legislation and regulation tie governments into a situation they cannot act efficiency. With this political system, legislation becomes refreshed, allowing the government to fully function without a massive bureaucratic crisis.

The citizens of the Xanthus Imperium are known for their Stoic behaviour or at least reserved stances, which can socially conflict with outsiders who struggle to read their intentions via body language. This has also led to the Argonus in developing extreme emotional illnesses more significantly, in comparison to the outside.

Technically speaking, I should start hosting now, but the queue is backed-up. Non-mafia games being classified as mafia games and hosts not updating their games being the main issues (sometimes even both).

Alright, recieved a PM from GeneralHankerchief, it contained revised dates for games.

    At the current dates:
Dragon Age: Origins - 10th July
    Parasite: Earthbound - 20th July

I highly recommend these two games.

Secura has put a lot of effort in the Dragon Age game, and is an excellent writer. It has some interesting mechanics from what I have heard, lots of interesting and well thoughtout roles. From what Secura mentioned to me, there isn't a "no PM = townie" like some hosts do, but some seriously interesting town roles and non-town roles, bringing out the Dwarf Noble Origin story out in its finest.

Parasite: Earthbound will be taking all the great points which many peoples loved about the first game, all the good points from Space Rogues, into an atmosphere where you will feel at one with the setting, with your actions influencing the world around you, weaving into a storyline of suspense, violence, stealth and mindgames.

Sign-ups for Parasite will start in-between 24-48 hours.

Since I will be sleeping soon then having a nice 12 hour shift (which goes to 13 hours if travel if included), then possibly a sleep soon after this, leaves me no time to have everything sorted for the game start if I begin sign-ups now.

Priority sign-up deadline ends within 24 hours of this post. (Monday, 7pm, GMT)
