Default No, I'm not Really a Waiter...

No, I'm not really a waiter. That's just my day job. My real job is:

British-based men of Afghan origin are spending months at a time in Afghanistan fighting Nato forces before returning to the UK, the Guardian has learned. They also send money to the Taliban.

A Taliban fighter in Dhani-Ghorri in northern Afghanistan last month told the Guardian he lived most of the time in east London, but came to Afghanistan for three months of the year for combat.

"I work as a minicab driver," said the man, who has the rank of a mid-level Taliban commander. "I make good money there [in the UK], you know. But these people are my friends and my family and it's my duty to come to fight the jihad with them."

"There are many people like me in London," he added. "We collect money for the jihad all year and come and fight if we can."
His older brother, a senior cleric or mawlawi who also fought in Dhani-Ghorri, lives in London as well.

Intelligence officials have long suspected that British Muslims travel to Afghanistan and Pakistan each year to train with extremist groups.

And one to file under 'You couldn't make it up':

The dead body of an insurgent who had an Aston Villa tattoo has also been discovered in southern Afghanistan.
Ah well. I guess it could all have been much, much worse. These fighters are not complete savages, as is shown by them not sporting Tottenham tattoos.

I don't find it all that odd from their perspective, but the UK really has to wise up on what they have living within their borders. Saw a video of beards shrieking the usual messages with the usual primitive rage at the 2 minute silence at national memorium day, and very passive bobby's.

Best to kill them abroad. A lot cheaper than all the legal niceties of trying to remove people aiding terrorists and actively trying to kill soldiers - we might be breaching their human rights deporting them to a country they are trying to destabilise...

The UK should realise the difference between a multicultural society and a multiracial society. The former doesn't work.

Some would say that what an Afghan cab driver does in his free time is none of our bloody business and that we should debate him

Anyway, you know something is rotten in your country if it isn't legally possible to simply pick up the "cab driver -Taleban fighter during his holidays" and send him back to whatever country the plane/boat/bus he arrived with, hailed from. And shoot him if he refuses to leave voluntarily. There are limits.

Wasn't it more the fact that they had the nerve to live in the country as citizens, then go kill its own soldiers? Much like this cab driver...

    Ah.

So nobody has an issue with Taliban fighters killing british soldiers in the presence of their families, as long as they do it on a tourist visa?

I have a hard time understanding how this guy can on the one hand make the most of the UK and on the other spend the proceeds of his comfortable existence in (potentially) attacking UK troops. How can he rationalise that? Living and benefiting from something he also objects to. I'm sure it's not that simple but the guy could surely have based himself in a country without forces in Afghanistan -and avoid such a contradiction.

It removes the problem I stated above. Of course, it is not acceptable for soldiers to conduct themselves as you describe, be they from the Taliban or the British Army.

Pesticides are used although we know it doesn't solve the problem. In the example given, removing the individuals from the UK (or more accurately, refusing them the right to return) would be a move towards sustainability.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Maybe he thinks it's awesome because each and every british passenger helps him finance the resistance against british troops? As in he's destroying them with their own money, they finance their own downfall.

You don't seriously think Muslims in Paris, in the capital of secular Europe, would use a football stadium for a huge outdoor mosque?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

They frown upon a football stadium.

Muslims in Paristan simply barricade off a few streets in the city itself, five times a day, prohibite passage for non-Muslims, and have their prayers in the open air. Like this, in the 18th, at the foot of Martyr Mountain, near the Sacred Heart basilica:

I'm sorry Louis but I really don't know how that city functions.

Is it divided up into segments? Do the truckers have their own and the Muslims another? The gas stations?

Forget the 35 hour work week. I'd be lucky to make it in for 10.

What do you know about opium?

But yea, that's basically what the Soviets did.

OK that was rather stupid get that boot out of my face. But skinning people alive is never a really nice thing to do, there is a hidden war going on there and the Afghans there are terrified of the Chinese, and beards do head into China, and the Chinese are active in Afghanistan.

Not sure what you mean, I was just pointing out that I believe you said "east china" when you meant "west china" again.... Because I believe plenty of people knows what goes on around Beijing and Shanghai, but I'm not sure they know what goes on in the west, on the borders of all the -stan's...

yup, i get a little happier inside every time i think about the possibility of a british born jihadi getting obliterated by a hellfire missile from a predator drone in the skies of afghanistan.

there is a price for treason, i would see it paid.
