Default Here: have some of my socialism.

    http://www.yr.no/

Norway is a country with a very long coastline, and as such we have a large maritime sector. As such, we have a huge need for highly detalied and accurate weather data. This is the primary reason for the establishment of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. For 70 years they have created weather data for use by government agencies, fishermen, etc etc. A few years ago, however, some fellow had a bright idea: why not put all the data on a website, so everyone can make use of it easily? After all, it's paid for by taxes, and should therefore be available for everyone. And as was said was done, and in 2007 yr.no was created.

And being true socialists, this data is available for everyone, not just norwegian users, it's even written in English so that the entire world can use it, completely free of charge. So, if any of my fellow orgahs needs free weather data: here you go! Don't worry about paying, I've already paid with my taxes

This is an example of an ideal society.

Meh, they are wrong a bit too often to be used as a single source. The hourly setup is excellent though.

Best way to get if it's going to rain in the next hours is to estimate from radar screens. Then crosscheck with 2-3 other sources. Detailed reports are a mess to get.

Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

If the service is good enough, I would not object to an appropriate fee and would gladly pay same as I planned my Narvik-to-Trondheim ocean kayaking effort. This would ease the burden on Norwegian taxpayers.

Bah! They didn't even translate it into Fahrenheit for us. What good is any of it?

That's good of them. Fahrenheit is rubbish.
