    Hi,

    I would like to help on 3D modelling or 2D artwork, at least I'd like to give it a try. I mostly use Google Sketchup for 3D modelling and Adobe Photoshop for 2D. I can learn different softwares. I modded Rome Total War a bit (map and text editing).

    Hello guys!
    I humbly offer my services to your mighty endeavour, in the chance that my small contribution may be of assistance!

    I'm an archaeology graduate, now Majoring in Roman Archaeology in Western Iberia. Although I still don't have any papers published (give me a year or two), I am well versed in all matters Roman (and, to a lesser extent, Iron Age Iberia), be it physical evidence or historical accounts. And if I don't know something, I can always find it or consult with my professors and colleagues.

    I have a BA in history and a minor (working on a major) in economics. I did plenty of research in antiquity economies, and research in many areas in history Persia, a culture you asked assistance for, was one of them. I think I could add value in these areas.

    Hi Guys,
    I am a longtime lurker and huge fan of EB. I downloaded it 4 years ago, and it is the reason I chose to become a history major! I am close to graduating, and will get a BA in history, specifically ancient history. I have also written my senior thesis on the early Parthians and specifically numismatics. I would love the opportunity to help the team as a Parthian history and I can send a draft of the thesis and my CV if you guys are interested.

    Hi, I was part of the team a few years ago, doing sound scripting. I left because it seemed like this mod was dying, but it looks like you're back on track and will release this soon. Tux tells me you could use the help.

    I can do some promo shots for you guys in 4K if you want, to really show off the improved textures. Vanilla M2TW itself still looks very good in 4K, so I can imagine how good this will look.

    Hi there,

    An EB II tweet linked to this thread and mentioned you still require some help with adding more content to EB II following the first upcoming release?

    I'm not all that active on ORG but have been following EB II for more years than I care to admit on TWC and would be delighted to help out in any way I can. It's EB I that keeps me coming back to RTW, so I've nothing but the highest respect for your work and if there's anything to be done that I can contribute to, count me in.

    That is, if my skillset currently is required on the team. The tweet mentioned "3D Modelling" and "Artwork" - I'm afraid my 3D modelling skills are non existent but I would gladly help in any way I can when it comes to artwork.

    Personally I've mostly moved over to digital art the last few years and would be happy to send you some samples if required. I believe Brennus is doing a lot of the concept art for EB II and I wouldn't want to interfere if he's got the job covered, but if assistance is required please feel free to let me know. I could also try myself on other bits & pieces (icons, banners and such) but usually spent most of my time drawing historically inspired characters (comes with the archaeology degree ^^).

    I'm usually not uploading most of my art to the web, but wanted to at least give one sample for your consideration. More could be send via email. This is a flat color drawing of a celtic individual (I wanted to see if I could copy the art style of The Banner Saga...)

    The picture was drawn with a much higher resolution in mind, so this thumbnail version unfortunately takes away a little from its appeal (or so I feel at least).


    One way or another, thanks for all your work on EB II! It has me very excited to say the least.

    Hi!

    Long time lurker and EB fan. I have been a huge fan of EB for years, and I'm extremely happy to see EB2 to finally come online. I would love to help anyway I can, and given my lack of artistic skills and a degree in ancient history, I want to put my name down as a scripter. I am not familiar with M2TW scripting, but I am very willing to learn and I'm familiar with EB1 script. I am a decent writer, so I can definitely contribute to descriptions of units and buildings, etc. as well. Please let me know if I can be of help--and thanks again for two amazing mods!

    Hi mandrewsf. Thank you very much for the kind words of support. Ideally we would need you to be reasonably competent with M2TW scripting before we could accept your offer of help. Please don't take this as a snub, but we do require future team members to be capable in the field they intend to work in before we can accept their help. There are plenty of things in EBII which would benefit greatly from having additional scripters, but unless you know how to work with the M2TW script then there not much we can do.

    If you manage to learn how to script in M2TW please let us know.

    With regards your degree in ancient history ideally we would be looking for a North African specialist.

    I am here in response to a thread that was posted regarding the apparent uselessness of missile troops, and javelin troops in particular, as well as functionality of charges (if that can be fixed at all). It was said there was only one person working in that area. I want to help make this wonderful. I have zero knowledge of how to fix this and I will need to be told where/how to look into the problem, but I will apply a modest amount of time to the issue over the coming months, and I am qualified problem solver [physicist].

    Other than that I have no knowledge of Ancient history (that I did not learn from this EB1), and simply wish to contribute to making the mechanics more functional.

    In addition to our "single guy" we have two other non-team volunteers working with him to address all the unit issues. I will tell you that our area of biggest crying need is somebody who is willing to dig into the traits mechanics. The good news is that it's really all about math (percentages) and coding (if/then and so forth, not vastly complicated). The downside, is there are a TON of them, and we don't have anybody on the team who is working this as a concerted project. As somebody with a scientific, logical bent, this might be an area where you could help.

    That does not mean you'd be expected to sweep in and solve everything. Elephants are not eaten in one meal, and we understand that. Take a look at this file: <your m2tw directory>\mods\EBII\data\export_descr_character_traits.txt - spend some time getting a feel for how a few of the traits work and are awarded (the BIGGEST issue), and then let us know if that's something you would be ready to help us with. Thanks!

    That is a monster of a file, I had a look at it yesterday. I'll be happy to go over it, after splitting it into bite size pieces. If you can send me/point me to any information on things that need to be added/or bugs that have been highlighted (I will read the bug threads later today), that would be great, otherwise I will glean over it as I understand it has all been hand written so I expect many copy-paste bugs.

    As for the bite-size pieces: the file is organized into "sections" and currently the one most complained about is the "Secondary traits/triggers" section resuting in generals getting too many negative traits too often (reportedly).

    The other big issue is the "anti-trait bug" which was discovered only very late in mod's development. This bug results in attributes sticking on character after a trait giving them n th first place has been removed by an antitrait. Optimally we should remove all antitraits and use negative awards (Affect [trait] [negative value] Chance [chance value]) instead.

    And of course there is a huge potential for creativity and new mechanisms - for instance you will notice that in the section devoted to factio-specific traits many factions has literally nothing at the moment...

    And yes, it was all written by hand. If you will actually help here it would be awesome. I will try to offer as much help and advice as I could (feel free to PM me) because my time is now too constrained by RL to actually review the file over again.

    If you go to the bug forums, I believe I may have found the reason why generals are getting too many negative traits (bug in ICE generation), and offered a solution. Can you please explain to me the anti-trait bug? I was reading some guides on traits, and I suspect it is solved by setting the "NoGoingBackLevels" to a number strictly above the highest threshold for the trait prevents the trait being entirely lost when an anti-trait gains a level, and merely increments it down. If we're not talking about the same thing let me know.

    If what I read in the guides is correct, some of the traits have been made to respect this bug, and others not. In these other cases "NoGoingBackLevels" are set that even if you increment by negative numbers, these traits will not go down, breaking your intended system of working around AntiTraits.

    I would actually quite like to overhaul the traits and prevent the bugs you talk of, but I am also time limited (thesis due in 6 months), but it would be a nice way to procrastinate hehe.

    Hi guys
    I 've been a fan since EB1 and all I can say is that it changed the way I look at PC games!
    I 'll be glad to help with decriptions or historical info about Pontos, Macedonia and Greece.
    I have a degree at Law and a second degree at Balkanic and Black Sea Literature and History.
    I'm also a native Greek speaker (plus Pontic dialect speaker)

    Hey guys!

    Firstly - I'm sorry I sort of disappeared quietly last time you asked me to do concept art. I had a tough time finishing university and starting a full time illustration business. Simply - I had no time and will to do any art beside work.

    Secondly - congratulations on the release! I have no idea which parts of the mod are done, but I assume the visuals are mostly fine? I think I could do some CA/promo art for you again, but I wonder if there's any need for that any more.
    Anyway, if you'd like me to do something for EB2, shoot me an email. (or a PM, although I'm less likely to respond to that quickly)

    Ive seen quite a few of you apppreciated this guy work with his new battle sounds. Why not inviting him here! Are you going to include his submod in the mod anyway?

    he initially done this for the Russians of Natus Ob Imperium so it will not be that original.



    To be honest I dont have anythign against borrowing stuff from these guys. If they didnt ask for permissions for some of their stuff this asked favor would be once again even more righteous. They are quite ahead with their mod and you guys could use soem of their stuff.


    what other ranks need to be fiiled? The recruitment thread OP is still up to date? Scripters, Historians for estaern regions, skinners etc?
