But horse-archers are horse-archers, and getting drawn into constant siege warfare, and having your greatest resource stressed (horses) makes a pretty good argument for why the Mongols would have had a rough go of it in Western Europe where virtually every city is a walled fortress, and grazing lands are far less available than Eastern Europe. Constantly having to stay in one place for days or weeks to subdue every single castle, fortress, or city would have to be psychologically draining for a soldier in a horse-archer culture.....The scrappy remnants in Russia were NOT Genghis's horde.
