This of course, will work if you have a superior concentrated force.
To keep this in the Roman vs Mongol theme, one need only achieve local superiority and that means having good intel...something I'm pretty sure the Romans were good at

The scrappy remnants in Russia were NOT Genghis's horde.
Of course. But horse-archers are horse-archers, and getting drawn into constant siege warfare, and having your greatest resource stressed (horses) makes a pretty good argument for why the Mongols would have had a rough go of it in Western Europe where virtually every city is a walled fortress, and grazing lands are far less available than Eastern Europe. Constantly having to stay in one place for days or weeks to subdue every single castle, fortress, or city would have to be psychologically draining for a soldier in a horse-archer culture.....

And exposing them more to disease and wastage -- all aspects of war their mobile approach sought to minimize. To be fair though, they could and did cope with sieges and did so effectively. You are correct in that the degree of fortification in WE was significantly higher.

I am afraid that the intel advantage would be on the mongol side. All Mongol campaigns were based on long term spying and intelligence gathering.

About the siege fest. Middle East and the silk road leading to China is full of fortified settlements.Europe is not unique in that sense by any means. How Mongols conducted campaigns was for example in their conquest of Khwarazmian Empire that the mongol Tumens first secured an area from mobile enemy troops and then left their siege train to take the cities, while the Tumens pushed forward to seek out any enemy that would give battle. The thing is by that time the Mongol army could countermarch any foot based army, so basically the Tumens did not have to stay put at all and still protect the siege train.

definitley Ghengiz!! most of the time unlimited wilderness will be victorious such as invasion of Islamic Arabs after muhammad!

2.Julius never defeated Parhians but it was Pontus!
    3. Numdidians were desert nomadic and with less civilization & war techniques unlike Parthia so dont say they were better than Parthians !!!
