Default So I was reading all the previews again...

Don't be fooled by my join date, I've been signed up here since about a year before EB 1 was released and I've been following EB2 ever since it was announced. I just spent a few hours reading all the previews, all the historical text, looking at all the pictures and watching all the videos and I was thinking... There have been 4 "proper" games I've been looking forward to this year. Red Orchestra 2 which is on its way to me, Battlefield 3, TES: Skyrim and Star Wars: The Old Republic. I've got them all ordered, cost me about £110. I think that's around $10,000 US or it may be less, I don't know what the hell the conversion rate is.

Anyway, where was I... oh yes, I was thinking, I'd put all 4 of 'em on hold for EB2... also I'd pay £110 for it.

Is there going to be a surprise Christmas release like there was for EB in 2007 or 2008 or whenever it was? Come on, we need to know, it's against our human rights to tease us with fantastic previews and not give even a rough release date. I'll report this to the European convention of abuses of human rights pertaining to tantalizational torture if you don't tell me. They take that stuff very srsly down there.
EBII has finally released. All hail the EBII team!

Coco pops with full fat milk. Also I took some painkillers because I spent about 10 hours yesterday painting a room, including the ceiling, and my back and right shoulder are absolutely killing me. I don't see why you ask though. My requests are legitimate.

Well, asking people to announce their surprise in advance is a bit... futile. After all, that means it won't be a surprise any more.

    Still, thanks for the compliments.

It would totally be a surprise! You'd be amazed at how quickly I would forget you ever told me. I don't even remember what I had for breakfast today.

Actually I do because it's in post #5 here but that's the only reason.

LOL, this guy is quite funny.

I actually do agree with him in that I would be more than willing to pay money for this game. Especially if it would somehow bring about a nearer release date. I really ought to make a donation, at the least.

I'm not sure a Christmas release is realistic (and I hope I'm proven wrong). I'm assuming the public release won't be until all the factions have been previewed (possibly with the exlcusion of the unknown factions as they might not be in the first release), but who knows! I'd rather them take the time and make it awesome rather than it being half done and rushed alá Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (thankfully some fan mods have saved that game).

just for clarity; the rushed status of Kotor II was not the fault of Obsidian! LucasArt wanted it early on short notice so they could sell it for Christmas, which i think is the point. but blame LucasArts!

Funnily enough the release date for SW:TOR is also Christmas time...coincidence? Hopefully that's not a rushed job

Many games these days seem to be missing a certain something, as if they were all being rushed. Thats why I can repect the infuriating state of Blizzard and their Diablo 3/Starcraft 2 scheduling. EB2 as well I guess although i'd certainly be more impressed with smaller, more frequent updates. Taking enough time to properly devlop something is important, especially if the fans can follow along.
    Completed Campaigns:
    Macedonia EB 0.81 / Saby'n EB 1.1
    Qart'Hadarst EB 1.2 / Hai EB 1.2
    Current Campiagns:
    Getai/Sauromatae/Baktria
donated by Brennus for attention to detail.

age of empires is a good example aswell, first MS rushed Ensemble studios to compleate aoe3 and then dissolved them.

And now look what they do now :/

So EB team: better take some time and do it properly :) - Imho the Gaza campaign is expect-able somewhere next year, my tip would be the beginning of the campaigning season^^
