This is senguku jidai, the age of the country at war.
The Ashikaga shogunate has ruled for over 200 years
but when it's power fails, japans most powerful leaders march to war.

The Oda clan, lead by the 35 year old Oda Nobuhide had been at war with the Imagawa for years,
the Imagawa had pushed Nobuhide back to his home province in Owari and was going to make the final attack
when the Oda was suprisingly strong in it's garrison and pushed the Imagawa back to Mikawa province.
Oda Nobuhide pressed the attack but the Imagawa won slightly.
With both sides weakend, the Mikawa province rebelled and took control of the province.
the leader of those rebels was Tokugawa Hirotada.

When Oda Nobuhide had regained the strength of his army he started to march onto Mikawa province.
Tokugawa Hirotada did not have an army big as Nobuhide and was defeated, but instead of taking over the Mikawa province,
Nobuhide let the Tokugawa keep the province but only if they became a vassal of the Oda clan, the Tokugawa agreed.
With the help of Hirotada, Nobuhide hoped that the Imagawa would fall.

The Oda could now concentrate more on their other enemy, the Saito.
The Saito's home province, Mino was straight north of Owari province
Nobuhide faced little resistance as he had not lost many men at the attack in Mikawa province. He soon had Mino under his control.
The first thing Nobuhide did when he had Mino province under control was to establish trade with other clans, as Mino province
was the neighbor province of South Shinano, witch was owned by the Kiso clan, and the Omi province, owned by the Asai clan.
with this the Oda got good econemy.

One's soldiers should not yell abuse at the enemy. An old saying goes, "Arouse a bee and it will come at you with the force of a dragon. - Takeda Nobushige
