Arkham City: Mini Mafia Game

A mini mafia game, with the Dark Knight facing a race against time to catch The Riddler. The role of The Riddler will be a lot more complex than most mafia roles, so pm me when you sign up letting me know whether you wish to be part of Random.org's decision making process. The game will start with a night phase, The Riddler will send me a riddle with clues. This can be as cryptic as he wishes, though The Riddler will need to put the reasoning behind it in with his pm to me and it needs to be within the realms of possibility that it can be solved. Dead will be dead in the game, with no participation afterwards. Normal 24 hour night day phases. No quoting role pms. Living players free to communicate freely outside game thread. Standard org voting rules apply. If I've missed anything, standard org rules apply. If the game goes well I am considering a large game based on the Arkham City/Asylum games.

Arkham City: Mini Mafia Game

Night One

Batman soared through the sky in Arkham City, scanning the ground for criminals attacking the few innocents left in the experimental facility. The police, security and medical personnel not killed by The Joker, Two Face, Penguin or Bane had mostly gone into hiding, but were still under threat from The Riddler. Edward Nigma was still at large in Arkham City, and the Dark Knight knew he couldn't leave without bringing him to justice. He noticed a crowd of thugs gathered around the steps of Two Face's courthouse and glided toward a nearby rooftop to watch. The doors opened and a body, in a green outfit, was thrown out. The doors quickly closed again.

Batman dropped straight into the middle of the crowd, knocking one goon flying into another two and out of the fight. The six thugs remaining rushed at Batman and were swiftly knocked unconscious, with a variety of elbows, punches, knees and headbutts. Walking over the the body a tinny voice suddenly came from a radio clipped to the medic's uniform.

"Riddle me this, riddle me that. Who's afraid of the big, black bat?

Who's auditioning for the part of the bat in Sheridan's comedy, thinking he's so smart?"

Batman looked toward the door of the courthouse. The Riddler would almost certainly be somewhere else, but one of his goons could give him a clue to the whereabouts.

Interesting catch Visorslash. I'm assuming the riddles can't be (entirely) red herrings, although I know that mini mafia games can have some strange rules. Blackadder, who does your role PM say you are?

Arkham City: Mini Mafia Game

End of Night One

As Batman glanced upwards, the door was an obvious trap, one he could handle he had no doubt, but there was no point in springing a trap when there was an alternate route. He grappled up to a ledge above the main entrance and found a service door, carefully opening it, he crept in and followed the hallway. In the main room a large group of Nigma's goons were waiting for him, clearly expecting him to come from the ground floor. A handily placed wire across the room allowed him to drop right into the middle of the group and disorient them with a smoke pellet. As the smoke cleared a few seconds later the floor was strewn with unconscious bodies, and one unfortunate soul with his throat caught in Batman's grip.

"Where is the medical team?"

"The ch, chu, church"

Batman had solved Riddler's clue, Stacy Baker one of the medical team despatched to the city was to be his next victim, he just had to get there in time. Luckily the church was nearby and he reached it in a few minutes. Entering through the front door, he quickly saw the problem, a blonde haired girl in a green jacket tied to a seat at the organ, with a time bomb sticking out of one of the pipes. It was ticking down, dangerously close to zero.



Zooming across the room, Batman reached the organ, "Help me!" whined the girl. The bomb was rudimentary and easily defused, though he had little time and finished with only a second left. He freed the medic, and told her to lock the door and not to let anyone in.



"Thank you Batman!"
