In those simple times there was a great wonder and mystery in life. Man walked in fear and solemnity, with Heaven very close above his head, and Hell below his very feet. God's visible hand was everywhere, in the rainbow and the comet, in the thunder and the wind. The Devil too raged openly upon the earth; he skulked behind the hedge-rows in the gloaming; he laughed loudly in the night-time; he clawed the dying sinner, pounced on the unbaptized babe, and twisted the limbs of the epileptic. A foul fiend slunk ever by a man's side and whispered villainies in his ear, while above him there hovered an angel of grace . . .

Hi, Gilrandir,
Sorry, newbie mistake. Meant some Royal or Chivalric Knights with pushed up (gold) armour and the like. Some of them still stray abroad into unhealthy climate and get killed - yes, in the realms of Camels and THAs....
btw, in vanilla MTW/VI those LithuanCav with bows enabled are a nice Cavallery for those evil smelling danes (I denie them anything beyond Royal Knights) - love them! But the idea of (to stay in the tradition of danes) Varangian Longbows is
...interesting. I´ll give them a try ;-)
@ drone: would love that - am not so good (missing some tools ´cos not running on win98se) in extracting parts of those monstrous .txt-files. Thanks in advance!
greetings daigaku

Hi,
oh yes, and "the realm of camels": in my current Norse campaign (reduxed) the saracenes brought camels as far as Lithuania - seem to spread all over the world....no place to hide, nowhere to run.. encircled by camels and no sweet smelling Houris around...the world is gonna end.... ;-)))))))

Hi, Gilrandir
I`VE SEEN THEM!!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE!! frozen snot around their nose from spitting at their unused (and evil smelling!) riders, eyes turned blue from the frost, the teeth clattering whilst trying to bite the foe the rider is targeting them towards....Nightmare on Ice Road, serving snow-desert-death to astonished Norse warriors who believe Ragnarök has come......

Hi Gilrandir,
those POLAR CAMELS sure don´t look like this friendly DROMEDAR in caravel´s post - changing realms is changing mood. Grim climate, grim character, grim warriors, grim camels...I love to play the Norse!!!
;-) daigaku
Hi Axalon,
this Camel-Burger thing only worked because your Inf didn´t meet those Mutated Monsters one encounters faaaar abroad their original homelands. There those merry men would have died terrible deaths - drowning in icy spit, heads split from cleaved(?) hooves, bitten the sword hand away with clattering teeth - no heroic death for a decent warrior.....but this way they are, those Camels....
grinning greetings, daigaku
Just give me a horde of Saharan Cavalry with a few Mamluks and I shall serve you Camel Burgers whenever you wish!
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

Been to:
Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
