Default Failed to Initialize 3D Audio

I found several threads on this but haven't been able to fix the issue.
I have Vista 64 bit. And have played this game before on this machine. I had it uninstalled for a while and in the mean time reset to OS to factory settings.
I tried rebooting. I've re-installed 3 times and my drivers are up to date.
I read a miles file might be an issue but where would it normally be located?

    Here are pics:
In installation music.dat fails to extract every time.

When I try to play the game.

    The folder

    Is there anything missing?

I don't install with a CD so scratches aren't the issue.

    Ant help or comments appreciated.

So I DLed RTW Gold from a different source. It used installshield instead of that installer pictured above. This installer used this directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War" while the other one used a SEGA directory. This one extracted everything perfectly & game runs great! I wonder if everyone else who had this issue had the same installer.
