EB2 Sneak-Peeks

In this thread we plan to regularly post screenshots taken during development and testing, and which we found so good that we now want to share with you. We intend to post here with regularity, not only to spur more interest in our work, but also to attract more talented artists who wish to help the mod.

Most of these pics represent already finished work, but some of them were WIP or taken in a testing environment, so it's normal that you may find some glitches. Please don't burden us with requests for fixing this or that, ok? There will be plenty of time to do that when we reach beta testing stage.

Some old ones... the Carthaginian Elite Cavalry charges in some unknown location of the north-african desert.

These pics show a lot of the things that make us spend long hours perfecting this and that detail: the cuirasses reflections, the modeled pelts, manes and armour pieces in the horses. The carthaginian general model also sports a specially made helmet and rich shield decoration.

Now goes a priceless pic, taken by Gustave some months ago. It was a winner in a screenshot internal contest that we made in EBH. It's called "A Thug's Life" and shows a scarred veteran of the elite Hoplitai Epilektoi, with 3 other companions, taking a rest before going back to the fight. He seems to be very battle-weary.

This is the kind of material that we're aiming to show, in a different perspective of the usual RTS-only approach. If you zoom in to your units during the battle you will find tons of details like these: scars, small tatoos, fibulae, torcs, etc.

This is another pic of the Hoplitai Epilektoi, with the great-looking beared-mask clearly visible. The mask was made in a way that any head in the unit can have the mask without causing collisions on the model.

It's time to show up a concept pic of the full campaign map, courtesy of Tanit.
There are several regions that we have changed the names, but overall the map is accurate with what we have in our current build.

Most of the factional units for the first release are already done and integrated, so now we're focusing on finishing the last regional units that we chose for that release. Cretan, Illyrian and Ethiopian units will fill the last slots of the 200 units selected for the first release. The current status is more than 90% units completely finished and integrated, so that area is almost done.

In this sneak-peak we show you 3 important units:

- the elite assault unit Peltastai Logades, which is specific of Pergamon, Pontos and the Bosporan Kingdom
- the renowned Kretikoi Toxotai, mercenary archers from Crete, which can be hired throughout the Mediterranean
- the less famed Kretikoi Peltastai, mercenary light infantry from Crete
