Vukkie you are too young to be this old. The 80's and 90's were pretty much crap when it comes down to, well everything. I can know I grew up in them. Ffs I wanted to grow up in the seventies, disco baby, slease and decadence, daaaaaancing yeahhhhhh, I miss a time I missed. But right now ain't so bad, pretty good actually. When it comes to games, be a good Vuk and go play Dishonored and Dark Souls, you will beat Dishonored pretty fast, but you will probably play it multiple times, and Dark Souls is going to make you cry (prepare to wut, prepare to be absolutily terrified) both no brainers for Thief fans, atmosphere-whores as we are.

Fact is, we are all in love with Tessa, really cute 21 year old girl that makes you bleed pure testosteron, we all want her. I am doing pretty good so far, I scored a 'untill next time', yes that is all, for now, but that is what has been given. Still behind the prick who already had her once, but I will better the instructions.

The 90's were the high point of human history. Gazza, McCoist, Laudrup, Albertz all at Rangers under Smith, strolling to 9 in a row. Scotland in the World Cup, taking on Brazil! Fifa Soccer Manager 97 was out, the best video game of all time. When you bought a video game, you got a full video game, and not just the parts of it they weren't planning on selling later. Bob the Builder was top of the charts. No mobile phones, no facebook, none of that junk. Strolling round all day in a shell suit...

What has happened to the world?!

Almost all movies and theater pieces,... had (a) formula for ages. Up to the basic of the 3 act structure of almost any narrative.

Xbox in general is. Long live Play Station. Also I don't get why anyone uses game stations for tv purposes when there are smart tv's and computers?

We don't really have money for a new TV, the last time we bought one was in 2007. Watching on the TV is a lot more comfortable than watching on the computer.

The 90's were a high-point in our society. It was a return to normalism.

It is a word I Websterized when I posted it.
It means trying to make yourself and your life as 'normal' as possible. Normal of course varies by culture and time, but in the 60's, 70's, and 80's normal became a dirty word and people strove to be as abnormal as they could. In the 90's normal temporarily stopped being an offensive concept and people began to normalize themselves and their lives a lot more. The fashions, literature, entertainment, etc, etc, began to drift a lot more toward our contemporary culture's concept of 'normal'.

lol, it is a concept there is not a word for (or at least not one I know of), so I had to make one up for it.

That what you "websterized" was actually a real term and you just used the wrong form of it is all.

Not really. That term refers specifically to restoring society to the state it was before WWI. I wanted a more general term for a societal trend toward that society's contemporary definition of 'normal'.

Yes in a historical context you are right that's what he meant. But it has now taken on a more broad meaning to cover what you mean. Just goggle "return to normalcy"

Exactly. A language does not grow or adapt if people do not invent new words to explain concept that the language currently has no means of expressing.

I did a google search and all I found were references to the historical context and tv shows made about it. Why would I want to use a term with that much baggage that is tied down to such a specific definition of 'normal' when my point was broad expression? I believe my term is far more practical and robust, TYVM.

That's just the first page and only those with "Return to Normalcy" in the headline of the article and not just as a phrase in there somewhere.

Or are all of these historical references to a pre 1920s world?
