I wonder what you would think if I *gasp* actually made sense.

As for the knowing the future....I always make some kind of crazy out of my prediction which is either 100% true or I am "off my meds kind of thing".

I'll lay off Abstain, because he's going to be in enough emotional distress tonight as it is.

vote: Ironside, seeing as I haven't voted for you in a while.

Tincow: while I grant you the possibility of a corrupt mayor, I deem it unlikely.

The implication behind the game's premise is that the mayor is battling against the mafiosi. Whether that is for his own ends or not remains to be seen, but it is more likely prima facie that the mayor is pro-town, or at least a non-mafia, role. The only people who would know for sure are the mayor, his friends and the mafiosi.

I agree that the name itself is an annoyance, but this strikes me as a ready-made excuse. I would not put it past you to, as mafia, to attempt to lynch a known town role day 1 if you thought you had a chance. Abstain's own choices make it easy...

I think caution regarding the mayor ought to be the order of Day 1.

    1. Not at all. It could be randomly picked from the set of non-scum players.

    2. In Capo, the Mayor or what-do-you-call-it, was elected.

That is certainly a possibility, but it's just a possibility. The rules are not sufficiently clear for either of us to be able to prove our theories one way or the other for certain, absent a clarification from the host. This is mafia; when it's not clearly stated in the rules that a person is a townie, the default presumption must be that the person could be scum.

Okay just to clarify, the Mayor is a guaranteed townie, and will remain so until he dies or the game is over. By randomly assigned I simply meant that any player could receive that role in the same way they would receive the role of detective, don etc, rather than a role that was assigned via a vote, such as the director in Capo.

My apologies for not making this clearer, it was intended to be public knowledge.

vote: Tincow. Although the host was originally ambiguous over whether the mayor could be mafia, possible interpretations ranged from unproven to confirmed innocent, whilst the rest of us are all just unproven. Thus Tincow tried to lynch the one person who actually had any kind of evidence at all pointing towards their innocence.

    The random gods have spoken.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?
