thanks...at the point where am starting to model armor, fairly simple when its loosely based on anatomy....then tweak it to please....then create UVs to take into photoshop to create textures. So will be learning to paint textures :)
...making it conforming in Poser will be something new, have no idea lol.

Wow. Are you the artistic type, a techie or both? What you explain is lost on me. Not an artistic drop of blood in my body. What you create is quite beautiful though.

prolly just an art type trying to get tech so I can use better tools. Basically to make armor take the body part it covers and make a copy...thats the basic shape. Then you can play with it to get more interesting shape and detail. A UV map is like the old deal of taking a round globe of the earth, peeling it like an orange and laying it flat. you take this map into a program like photoshop to paint a texture, then can take it back into Maya and place it back on the object. You can say paint metal armor with a crest design, then in maya make it shiny and anything else you see in the real world...its getting really involved but when I can design and build all my own stuff will be very vefry happy.

first pass on first assignment, they provided the robot and we had to rig it with very simple controls and parent it accordingly, I added a lil quick texture for fun...critique is tomorrow so if its acceptable will get the rest of the week off :)

Very nice. Seems to be a pleasant morning there. Or was it dusk? Either way it is delightful.

lol, well unfortunatel for that career the outfit here I didnt make....my ideas for clothing and armor are probably a bit boring and realistic. Arms on the other hand are the expression of ones soul....

last Rigging project and half the grade. Rigging completely a character. Have IK/FK blended on the arms and legs, curl on the fingers, spine and head are off to a start...for this week need to do spread of fingers and then finish off the feet. Hardest thing will probably for me be weights painting for the joints and head...mouth esp. Hoping to finish this afternoon since is my day off, have an axe ive been working on :)

Class is over and we finished a week early so free time. This is a very basic and sloppy first version of the Darkness Falls map. I do not claim the graphics, borders were a free download, map textures were likewise, all put together by me of course to depict the western area of the world.
Tanar Jaless...whore of the west....ancient and dark. Once held power over most of the west due to the power of brother/sister rulers. The brother acted the general and the sister a daemonologist who ruled thru magiks and foul beasts.
Andon Noroth...aka Giants Gift...as the young race of Man emerged several tribes went north to join the giants against the foul hordes that poured over the peaks. Victorius but crippled the giants went deep into the mtns leaving some of their kin behind to tailor a fortress for their human allies.
Barakur...strong fortress of the Dwarves....bastion against the darkness, this is where Voden Stonecrusher sang his songs of power and purchased the safety of the Dwarves with his life.
Quilsalas...one of the forests of the Elves,
Thunbergi, Helveti, Marcomann, Anhalt, Carnutes...the Nathi kingdoms. They live life to the fullest. Love to drink, boast, fight. If they could ever unite.....every kingdom seems to have an interest against that happening however.
Andor...the Tor petty kingdoms, ruling from the lofty peaks.
Kithpara...the trader lands. A natural seapower and traders.
Angul_Rond...the Reaver-March...to the NW lie the Reavers, warriors and traders, AR is a mix of reaver and native which had served as a buffer for the empire, now playing the two against each other to try and be free.
This timeframe finds the bro/sis rulers have been dead for a decade. The power of the empire shattered, their generals loosely hold it together tho many lands have fallen away, infighting rules the day. they have started to move to retake the lost power. Dark clouds gather to the north threatening both Giants Gift and the Barakun Dwarves. Reavers have once again been ravaging the coasts and rivers in number.
much still to do such as rivers and locations and traderoutes, weather....just thought i`d throw this out there :)
