I haven't posted because I haven't been in Estonia and near any internet capable device for almost 24 hours.

I shall endeavour to live up to the trust placed in me.

My question, for now, would be centred on who would go for BSmith Night 1...

    So...

    1. BSmith chooses Montmorency as first king.
    2. Montmorency lunches Ferret.
    3. BSmith chooses Curio as second king.
    4. Someone kills BSmith.

... what information can we extract from this?

Montomery might be mafia, IF the king gets any info abou anything ever out of thread. I dont know if that is the case. Curio or monty could disprove all this pretty soon if they say the info they got from visor.

But why BSmith? He was one of the most respected members of the gameroom community. Successful, smart, good looking. Was it envy that drove the murderer to this action? Or maybe an admirer feeling neglected by his idol? Maybe BSmith, behind the polished facade, was involved in shady affairs, gaining him enemies on both sides of the law. Blackmailing? Casino debts? I want everything you can find on him!

    Da hell guise?

    Actual information? Factoids?
One thing I know for sure is that Monty has killed either one or two townies. Unfortunately that's two different things.

BSmith gave Monty the first day as King - why? well if Pizzas last game was anything to go by then Monty was pretty much towns MVP (not that that's really saying alot ;) - hells - maybe he felt bad about trouncing town so badly with his flawless mafia victory and bestowed Kingship on who he felt played against him best. Or - maybe he gave Monty a free pass because it's not uncommon to see Monty lynched early. This is in any case; less important for analysis than BSmiths choice to put GSC in for King. After the first day in which GSC had attempted to generate plenty of discussion, he seems a solid enough choice - one that I probably would have made.

It is of course entirely possible that either of our royal line are scum, but right now I just want to hear more from those who haven't posted. It feels like Ferret got lynched for making a small contribution. He seemed scummy to me, but then that's only compared to people who can't seem scummy because they're lurking. I think if I had been in Monty's royal shoes on the first day I would just have lynched anyone who hadn't posted. It's probably not the right place for the discussion, but not posting at least once a day is ...well: How rude!

To business: I did not agree with Monty's choice of Ferret, for all I can see why he made it. Frankly, lynching one of those who had not posted would have sent a more positive message, even if no more likely to hit a mafioso day 1.

The reason I asked regarding who would go for BSmith so early is because I view him as someone, in fact almost the ideal person, who could be used to divert attention from the mafiosi in the late game.

It is certainly possible for the kingmaker to choose badly, that is one of the key problems that the town has to overcome. And discussion regarding the next prospective ruler would always be helpful: at this stage I would nominate Lazy or edse.

I understand that the next lynch is my responsibility alone, but I am stating unambiguously now. I currently view votes unsupported by any reasoning as suspicious.

    El Barto: why Makrell?
Darth Feather: this reads like the easy option - sure I-K is not helping, but is he any more likely to be mafia? Given that it is day 2, and he would have a partner, surely now, with more information should be going after the active member(s) of the enemy. We have a very limited window to start knocking the mafia off, and I would rather now focus on using the information we have accumulated.

That said: Choxorn; Double A; I-K: take this as fair warning - get involved or risk execution.

I placed my vote at 7.54pm with the round due to end at 8.00pm.

That it is now 8.35pm and there has been no announcement regarding game progress speaks of the Australian approach to time management.

    Fair enough...

The correct Australian attitude, but still the typical one.

As to reasoning, unlike those who have so far failed to show an interest, or have been lost in the wild without internet, El Barto had voiced opinions regarding who he wanted to lynch, but had chosen, despite the emphasis of all involved, to take no part in wider discussion and meld into the background.

I deemed this to be sufficient reason to act against him, and was proven wrong.

I hereby lay down my imperium, that it may be assumed by tomorrow's magisterial appointment.

Seems fair enough. I had also forgotten that the phase had a time limit - assuming that it just ended once the King had voted.

Indeed, I would have waited for your explanation, had the round end not been imminent.

To be honest, I was to focused on trying to force discussion and the time came to make a decision and I had to narrow it down from 6. In the end I had to base my decision on the lack of substance in those posts which you had already made, despite the fact that you had not had a chance to respond.

and I'm manly enough not to blame my Internet even when it does act out on me.
