    Default Dominion 4

    Any Dominion players here ?

I like how this game looks. Rich, deep and narrative. And the battle system is very interesting : makes you feel like the player is a real general that can issue orders but can't really influence the battle once it has started.

It actually seems much more realistic than the tw system ! If you could issue new orders every 10 turns, hoping for them to reach your officers, that would even be the ultimate system !

It sounds similar to an old Amiga game called Waterloo. You could only see the part of the battlefield you were at and you issued orders to your corps or divisions. The messengers may or may not get there and/or the commander might ignore the order if it ran counter to their current situation. Likewise, you could learn about the situation at other parts of the field either by riding there or asking for a battle report from the commander. It was a very interesting and fun way to conduct a battle. The only things missing would have been a replay so you could have watched the parts of the battle you couldn't see during play.

Anyway, do you have a link to the game? A search for "Dominion" yields a variety of results. Your brief description of it has my interest piqued.
