Thread: Running EBII in Windowed Mode

Default Running EBII in Windowed Mode

Anybody know how to run EBII in windows mode? I hate playing games in full screen mode, and it distorts the resolution of the other monitors so I can't watch twitch/youtube/netflix.

edit your EBII.cfg file to have the following

    windowed = true

All of the values are either 1 or 0. Would true still work? It was already set to one but wasn't in windowed mode.

I changed it to True and it did not seem to work

It probably got overwritten after you changed it. Set it to read only and it should stick.

    Hello.

I too wanted to get EBII to run in windowed mode, but the solution provided here did not work for me. Instead, I added 'windowed = true' to the [i]medieval2[i].cfg in the main medieval 2 directory and now it works fine.

What should I do if I want the windowed mode in fullscreen?

Then you modify both the resolution and the windowed parameters, I believe.

    battle_resolution
    campaign_resolution
    windowed

As far as I know, you cannot play in borderless windowed mode like you can in Rome 1 and Rome 2. But you can play it on full resolution and it's almost as good.

Thanks for the tips here guys. Alt+Tab in full screen locks not only the game but the computer too (requires reboot) so I can now try windowed when necessary

Get Notepad++. Never edit any of the game's files with Windows Notepad.
It began on seven hills - an EB 1.1 Romani AAR with historical house-rules (now ceased)
Heirs to Lysimachos - an EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR with semi-historical houserules (now ceased)
    Philetairos' Gift - a second EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR
