I'm guessing there's some sarcasm at work here.

I just hope they added another color to their pallet besides brown.

Let's hope they finally changed the setting to a more interesting one in Europe for example.

This statement makes me madder than anything I have read in the backroom.

Hope they make it harder, you are basicly unstopable way too early in Fallout 3, nothing poses a threat anymore. Atmosphere is great but it's way too easy.

Europe is kinda dead in the fallout universe... so is everything else for that matter save for the USA. I suppose you could argue that vaults might have been built in the cold war American military bases, but that's a bit of a stretch especially as there likely were no amerifan bases in euro0e considering it was China not Russia that played the red menace in the fallout universe.

I would like Detroit with all it's rundown art-deco glory. It already is a fascinating place as it is right now.

Much of the humor behind Fallout is in satirizing 1950s American jingoism and expectations of the future. It's no longer Fallout if it is no longer taking place in the US.

Also Europe may or may not be destroyed. In F3, there is a British immigrant (Tennpenny) who did in fact come from the British Isles (long distance travel is still possible somehow).

Europe is a no, but it might be interesting if it takes place in China, it wouldn't mess with Fallout-universe when done right. America of course also attacked China, and conquered parts of it. Could make for a great Blade-Runner vibe. Starting out from an American enclave, and entering Chinese territory after a while.

That analogy is absurd. I'm not taking your bait.

I'm pretty excited about this. I doubt it will take place in "exotic" locations like China or Europe. Most peoples money is currently on Boston, with the Institute as the main plot background.

    4 hours to go...

Nice. I hope there'll be time travel, I've been wanting a proper look at pre war fallout since the anchorage dlc.

Tenpenny was British? I thought he was a descendant of one of those old money new englander stereotypes. I thought the only British guy in Fallout was Desmond, the Ghoulified British secret agent from Point Lookout. Huh.

Trailer looks nice, things seem to be in better state than in Fallout 3 where everything is destroyed. I couldn't really play it in long sessions because everything was so bleak. That's the point of course but it just gets to me after a while.

    edit, Boston it is, classy.

Nah, it was confirmed he was British and traveled across the Atlantic to make a fortune in the former US. Desmond was also British but had been in the us since the bombs fell.

I'm happy already, they actually did find another color to use besides brown.

Well he is kind of. But he's also 80 and came to the former US as a young man. 50+ years is enough time for anyone to lose an accent. There's actually a few Brits in Fallout 3. Colin Moriarty is supposed to still have some Irish in his speach.

Brown was a perfect fit for the game imho, I mean it's a wasteland, everything is dead

It quickly gets tedious to look at and it's already been done. Unless you think there's magic in just sticking the #4 after the title instead of a 3, I'm all for something hopefully a bit different.

Would call it oppressive rather than tedious. Makes sense that the DC-area was hit the hardest and is really bleak when compared to Las Vegas or Boston.
