    Default Diplomacy

    Are you destined to rule the world ?
    Do you believe the Great War should symbolise your ability to defeat your rivals and rise to the top?
    Are you ready?

    Diplomacy

    Set in 1901, Seven Great nations are posed to move with the victor taking Europe. Take on your Gameroom friends in the ultimate combination of Charisma, Risk and Fortitude to lead your great nation to glory.

    Diplomacy Rules

    Game Rules:
    Ending time for orders will be 22:00 London Time and I will attempt to have the results posted before 00:00 that day.
    Each season will take 48 hours. (Spring and Autumn)
    After each combination of Spring and Autumn, it is the Recruitment phase. This will last 24 hours.
    If you miss two seasons, you will get replaced in the Recruitment phase.
    Game is expected to last 16-20 seasons on average.
    When you send orders to me, give your country name, and what season/year it is. Your PM is to include all of your orders and I will only take the actions from the latest message. You can change your orders as much as you like during the 48 hour period, but for my sanity, please don't spam me.
    You are free to use private message, skype, steam, thread, quicktopic or any method of communication to discuss your diplomacy with other players.
    I would love some Roleplay and Banter in the thread too.
    First to 18 supply-points wins. (Half the map)
    jDip will be used for rules and map.
    F = Fleet
    A = Army
    Countries are assigned first come first server.

    Start Map: Spring 1901

    I made it 48 hours as this should allow you to make at least a message to and from other players regardless of the time-zone and send in your move. I will message you again if 6 positions have been filled if you are still unsure when that occurs.

    I don't like these sorts of Chess Plus setups. Can we do this, but with adapted rule-set from the old Game of Thrones things?

    If not, then put me down as America.

    There is a Game of Thrones board game which is just like Diplomacy. I don't own it though but I have played it.

    There is no America.

    I know what you'll say, and you're right, I admit: as complicated as the(electronic) "pen-&-paper" version of Game of Thrones game was, something along the same lines for Belle Epoque Europe would not be humanly possible.

    Part of the problem was creating a ruleset from scratch and being victim to some of the most imaginative shenanigans imaginable was the biggest mistake.

    If I ever went back into it, I would do clear set rules to prevent a repeat of it happening again.

    Also why I am hosting Diplomacy. It is pretty much the same setup, except the rules are quite straight forward.

    Austria and Italy are still up for grabs for people reading. Both good choices for sweeping into the Balkans.

    I always butchered it to the tune of "see-s-argo" which is awful and makes no sense.

    That player pulled but Gaius took his place in the game if he replies in the thread. So only Austria is free.

    Played it face to face today, Austria won. I was France, silly Russia made a bad deal crumbled and Germany suicide attacked me. I did own UK, Framce, Iberia but lost Italy.

    I will start game tomorrow regardless, I will AI (no diplomacy) any free nations till players take over.

    I can take Austria if you really need a player. As a total noob I probably should watch a game first, but surely I'm at least better than an AI. Right?

    Okay, the game officially starts at 22:00, but I will start work on the post. You are free to start discussing it with other players.
