    Default Harcore History

Anyone listen to the Hardcore History podcasts?

I've been hungry for interesting content for my commutes and then I came across this. His WWI (Blueprint for Armageddon) series is epic. I just listened to his most recent on on the Assyrians / Babylonian / Persian Empire- also very good. The only complaint I have is that the guy takes forever to produce new content. But I heartily recommend it nonetheless.

Been a fan for a couple of years now. My absolute favorite is his 5 (6?) part series on the fall of the Roman Republic. The final entry in that series is 5 and a half hours long, but it just flies by. Another good one is Prophets of Doom - his one-off about the Münster Rebellion. That helped me get through an 8.5-hour layover this past summer.

Incidentally didn't like his new Persian one much, it felt a little disjointed and unfocused. Still though, any new content from him is welcome.

Yeah, I was looking at the Fall of the Republic series. I hadn't checked it out yet because it's not free. . But I'm in bad enough need of commute content and it's only a few bucks, so I'll probably be getting it shortly.

I thought the Persian episode was interesting just as a reminder of how much historical content there is from that time period thats often overlooked.... by me at least.

Argh, I've long resented podcasts for rarely including transcripts, but this really takes the cake.
