Default Call of Duty Modern Warfare - Remastered

All right, this is not a standalone - you have to buy Call of Duty Infinite Warfare to get it. But... this is Call of Duty 4 after all. The grand daddy of all modern FPS shooters.

And it's being remastered with modern graphics!

    All Ghillied Up boys.

The only problem is that this won't be available standalone, unless Activision will release it later on by itself, which I somehow doubt because Call of Duty 4 is still available for purchase.

    Remastered after only a decade?

I feel like there should be some kind of Hollywood-gaming singularity. It probably will make economic sense and everything.

It's remake rather than a remaster

Sure, if you only count the CoD series as being the only modern FPS shooters.

Whole different genre even if they are both fps. Hoping for a quake-reboot that is awesome as the new Doom.

CoD 4 came out with the super customisable stuff that is the mainstay of modern FPS games now - you don't see games without achievements and unlocking items.

Every game past CoD2 is new for me because I haven't played it. How can you call this the granddady of modern shooters?

This is the grandaddy for me:

The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

Good, was really nonsense. This is with Zelda the Wind-Waker (glorious) a prime example of what a reboot should be, they really put a lot of effort into making it better

Has anything changed with the CoD series to turn it into a vaguely realistic gunfight game? Or is it still, at its core, a tribute to mythical ninjadom bladework?

Play Operation Flashpoint if you really want a sim. Some missions are truly scary, especially one where you are all on your own against impossible odds.

And have a computer from 2003. Arma 3 is the newest one.

Certainly looks better, but OF is much more realistic. A sim doen't have to look pretty

Wrong way around, the basic mechanics are merely refined in Arma, which makes it slightly more realistic, but neither of them are actually sims I'd say. The infantry combat mechanics in Arma are sim-y perhaps, but that's about it.

It really is but fatigue is COD's problem. All are great games, they play great and have great production values, there are just too many. Halo has that as well, all Halo-games are really good but that fatigue. Nintendo is much smarter, they really make you wait for something (a new wave race pleaaaaase)

People are upset because it wasn't released standalone in the first place...
