    I must say, I mourned for MTM when I heard the news. My lamentations continue. She was a great woman. RIP.

    I was never a big fan, but respected her comedic talents. Also respected that she was Type I and never let it slow her down.

    I then heard on the radio -- Glen Beck program of all places -- exactly how many powerful and genre-changing shows her production company had been behind that I never remembered. This woman more or less re-defined television in the 1980s and pretty much established the new nature of television up to the start of the "reality" TV era. A powerful player in her industry indeed.
