Named after the astrophysicist who predicted the discovery of the solar wind, the probe will travel closer to the Sun than anything we have ever sent.

Up close and personal? Sure, why not?
NASA seems to think that until we get closer, we just miss too much (sounds like a relationship)
It may even have some impact on predicting/anticipating solar storm for severity and possible effects here on Earth.
