    Hi

I just bought Shogun - Total War and after some troubles with nVidia drivers managed to get it work. )

Now I'm wondering why I don't have 'use 8 bit textures' option in video options?

Does it make any visible difference in lookout of units?

    My set-up is following:
    -Duron 600
    -Windows 98SE
    -128MB RAM
-ASUS V7100 videocard (geforce 2 MX) with ASUS drivers 5.33
-20GB hard drive with about 14GB free
    -Abit KT7 motherboard
-Shogun - Total War version 1.12

    Thanks,
    -Rauski

I thought 8-bit was a dumbed down version? I thought the default was 16-bit? Anyways, i tried it just for the hell of it and got this:

    My set-up is following:
    -Athlon 500
    -Windows 98SE
    -196MB RAM
    -nvidia TNT2 m64 with nVidia drivers w9x-1080
-13GB hard drive with about 5GB free
    -don't know my motherboard
-Shogun - Total War version 1.12

Well, this one is easy. NVIDIA cards don't support the 8-bit texture feature. On some setups the game will show the option, on others it won't.

    So forget about it.
