"And one should bear in mind that there is nothing more difficult to execute, nor more dubious of success, nor more dangerous to administer than to introduce a new order to things; for he who introduces it has all those who profit from the old order as his enemies; and he has only lukewarm allies in all those who might profit from the new. This lukewarmness partly stems from fear of their adversaries, who have the law on their side, and partly from the skepticism of men, who do not truly believe in new things unless they have personal experience in them."

I used to play Runescape, but for one reason and one reason only: The clan wars. Despite Runescape itself being a POS, it still has a large and intricate clan community.
a very minor skirmish
A major war, also one of the most lopsided victories in Runescape. The Alliance vs the Golden Helms + allies. The Alliance had over 300 people.
Another relatively minor engagement (those people there represent about 5-6 clans)
BTW my screenname was King Sancho.
It's clearly been some time since anybody put up some screens, so here's some from my DOW games...
:Member of the Steel legion loads a rocket launcher
:Grey Knight defends the body of a fallen comrade
:Even in the grim darkness of the far future, there is time for break dancing
:ouch, right in the gut...
Steel Legionaire: "oh the sheer Humanity of it all!"
:Grey Knights lead a counter attack
:An Ork Attack repelled...but at a terrible cost.
thanks to Imagshack for hosting the files, and the Daemonhunters Mod team for a great mod!

The US is marching backward to the values of Michael Stivic.
Since Valve have just released a new multiplayer level of Half Life 2 that uses High Dynamic Range Lighting, they were talking about it as though invented the technololgy and are leading the way with it. So I thought id post a couple of screenies that show what it did to a different game when they implemented it 6 months ago on a game already over a year old...
The full screen was taken at 1600x1200 then resized to 600px wide and merged together. The second comparison shot is a section cropped from the original screens at full resolution, its also a png to preserve image quality.
As you can see the future of gaming is looking bright

For those that are interested, the way in which pixels are generated are set to change radically - currently, color on a PC screen is made up an 8 bit integer triad (thats 3 numbers of between 0 and 255) and the power of floating point calclulations is not utilised when generating graphics. High Dynamic Range lighting introduces floating point calculation into the process, allowing for an infinite number of steps between 0 and 255, rather than limiting it just 256 differant values for each prime color - therefore allowing much more accurate and realistic lighting conditions, as you can see from the above screens
The only downside is that currently, High Dynamic Range lighting is only implemented in the very latest chipset (only nvidia as well i think), and it doesnt support antialiasing when enabled. Also, it almost kills even the latest and greatest vid cards at high resoltutions.

Monk, Grey Knights fighting Orks??? what a waste!!!! lol. Great Screenies though!! Is the Grey Knights mod good? i have looked at it but yet to give it a go.

RTK4Flintoff in multi-player
The Daemonhunters mod is indeed great. The Ordo Mallus faction that the mod introduces includes both the Steel legion of Armageddon (Imperial guardsman shown in my screenies) and the Grey Knights. Being of The Emperor's stock, its no surprise Grey knights are practically god-like (but VERY expensive).Originally Posted by King Edward
They are a fun faction to play and i'd recommend you try out the mod. since some of the models share paint schemes, you can only really play against Orks and Chaos. If you play against the Eldar or space marines the enemy colors won't display correctly.
Though thats only a minor concern, as the Steel legion would only fight Orks in the TT (they are Ork fighters after all) and the Grey Knights hardly ever fight anything other than Chaos.

I picked up Morrowind again, so here's a super-cool screen of my new character.
Mods used: Better Bodies; Emma's Dunmer Faces
God bless the Elder Scrolls community for coming out with so many mods.

Any of you that played Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear online, will know that its almost impossible to get 8 kills in a single game, much due to the skill of the game and that it was hard to find good servers that could hold 16 players at a time with no lag. In six years of playing it i only saw it once...and here i am

Hilarious screenshot which still makes me laugh, again from Rainbow Six Rogue Spear. This was taken during a ladder match, 3vs3, and my team was one map away from winning. We were quite bored as the enemy team were very poor so we thought for a laugh we'd just all climb up a ladder and stay there for as long as the enemy team didnt find us.
Twenty minutes passed and they never found us, of course we got accused of cheating Funny days.

I don't think this topic is about how great you did in RTW MP... on a river map...

Nearly, yes. 1600*1200, highest quality, 2*AntiAliasing. It runs very, very smooth. I am surprised how nice it is on my 2 years old computer.Originally Posted by Taurus

Nice screenies, do you play CoD2 online mate?
Woah, loving the splash of blood there, you dont usually see that in WW2 games. Is that a mod? The sniper shot looks classic !

Yes I do play online Taurus, I love sniping
In regard to the blood:
the blood on the screen means I'm injured
the blood spray/stick to on walls/ground is a mod i believe
the blood spray i think is part of the game
These screens arn't all that good, I took them from my laptop which only runs with the graphics on a modest setting. I'll take some using my home comp
