    Clausewitz: The chicken was employing a tactical movement designed to fool his enemies, also known as Crossing the Road, which is a synonym for a stealthy passage through enemy territory, penetrating the enemy artillery and cavalry in order to pass information to his allies just over the border, a very common move in the warfare of the times
