Unhappy Why do we have to spoil the good threads?!

I was just reading the "London bombers British" and "What kind of animals are we" and I was amazed, from great starts it turned into a bickering fight and into a horrible thread, as Ser Clegane stated....

Why do we have to do it every time?! What kind of animals are we, just as Kagemusha said?!

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Having posted in the 'London Bombers were British' thread early on, I have to say I was gobsmacked by the way it descended the way it did.
May the wind be ever at your back and the sun ever on your faces. May your sword lie light in your hand and heavy in the memories of your enemies

Likewise. I was always uneasy about it though, the title of the thread made me think that sooner or later it was going to turn nasty.

High horses now compulsory in the backroom?
GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

Of course. Without our high horses where would we be?
The left takes the high ground because their opinions are 'nicer' and the right is just mean and greedy.
The right takes the high ground because their opinions have 'common sense' and their left is just naive and idealist.

It is sad though when often people don't read the posts and choose to comment based on who said something rather than what they said.
